A small section of the WHO paper says that it requires manufacturers to desist from using the term ecigarette or similar names because they 'create confusion' with combustible smoking products (glad at least they know the bloody difference)

World Health Organization wants regulators to ban the word 'e-cigarette' - Washington Times

They refer to our devices as Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems or ENDS and have done as long as I can remember (see my sig)

Now I've seen many Vapers over my four years + of using them suggest the same thing. They don't like the term ecig for example. In some circles and as the tech has developed the word 'ecig' has become synonymous with a cigalike first generation. Better devices become vaporisers or simply 'mods' though mods wouldn't seem appropriate for say an ego style device

I have never liked vapouriser if I'm honest. I like ENDS even less. I can't think of any other term I either like or that adequately describes the whole range of devices we use.

Er, How about "Horribly expensive shiny stuff"
Maybe we could try the Scouse version I heard this morning "Leccy fag"
Or as my Mother calls them "Puffy things"...:grin2:

Vaporiser is a bit of a mouthful, how about shortening it to a vap, after all we are vapers and we vape so if we are vaping upon a vap that might make sense grammatically.

I often say ' now where did I put me vape' but vap might encourage that irritating mispelling 'vapping' ;)

Didn't jediknight come up with the Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhalation System? Who would object to that? I mean WHO would object to that?

Always loathed the term ecig and its various alternatives - mods, attys and vaping kit does for me.

Yeah that's the argument my Mum used for shortening my name to Abi rather than Abby, it still doesn't wash :p I mean just because some one ate something that is no excuse for saying they were atting, in English it is either correct or it just ain't :P

I hate ecig, almost as much as I hate this fucking forum being set to yank speak :D

I tend to refer to my attys or box mods/tubes get mech(s) but when speaking to less vape literate folk,I use vaping gear.I still correct every reference to my vapour clouds as smoke though these are getting rarer as my corrections are getting more aggressive :D
