If the term ecig annoys the who, as far aa I'm concerned, that's all the justification necessary to use the term as often as possible in as many media outlets as possible, and particularly in emails directly too the who, yelling them what a set of bellends they are.

The acronym PENIS has been around for at least four years. I recall another for eliquid , PISS, but can never recall what the individual letters stand for

I tend to use vapouriser. .. it is what it does. .. but AVD seems used a lot for example or PVD .. to uneducated people ecig is easier as they then know what it is vaguely without a long explanation. .. the WHO are probably just wanting to get rid of a readily understood term to confuse the issue rather than to distinguish between tobacco and nicotine vapour. .. after all look at all their other crap lately. ..

You can bet whatever is suggested, it would only be acceptable to the WHO and friends if it was an acronym (so they could toss casual usage of it about as if they have a clue what they're actually talking about) and also definitely contained the word 'nicotine' in the acronym because we wouldn't want anyone to forget which substance is the greatest threat to the future survival of humanity, would we?

Personally I would favour the acronym TCUPS (Tobacco Control Unemployment Provision System).
