PG/VG Ratio Question

I might be overcomplicating this but I want to check before I ruin a bottle of VG. The VG I have is too thick and burns coils so I dilute it down with 5% PG (50ml per litre of VG).

So I use 15% flavour. Since it's PG based flavour and I'm burning coils a little when I chain vape, I'm considering adding a further 5% PG to the mix to have 80/20 juice at the end (excluding the original 5% PG I added as a thinner).

If I added 10% PG to my bottle of VG as a thinner, would it be the same effect? It feels like it should be a simple question but something in the back of my head is telling me adding 5% to a bottle of VG is not the same as adding 5% to a mix.

Or - just leave your VG alone and add PG to your mix?
Presume your nic is VG?
15% flavour gives you 85% VG.
Just stick PG in the mix to get 65,70, 75, 77.8% VG - whatever you want. Much easier to calculate & control keeping 'pure' ingredients.

I think you would find it simpler to just get the desired ratio at the point when you mix, any decent juice calculator will work this out for you and you can easier adjust to get your desired effect.
As it stands your question just makes my head hurt :)

I understand it's easier to mix when the ingredients are "pure" but I make a lot of juices for friends so if I can premix the VG/PG, it would save me a lot of time.

I think I'll need to do this in excel to calculate the numbers properly to make sure the final quantities are correct.

I didn't think it was as simple as adding 10% to the VG. Thanks for confirming I'm not losing my mind :)

Each to there own but you are loosing versatility by creating 'pre-blends' IMO.

If you make for friends surely it is better to keep pure. That way you can fine tune ratios at will. Doesn't really make that much difference time wise.
