Good heavens, what an angry colonial!
He is right, of course, there's too much of the baseball caps and great clouds man in all this vaping mallarkey. I'm sure the majority of vapers are quite normal dudes (oops!).
However, with this cheeky chappy, I'd never heard of him so looked through his online "bio" and he seems to relish in his DJ sideshows of (and I quote) "Lesbian Kissing contest … Dildo wiffle ball … The Great Humping machine … Nightclub Survivor … Fear Factor" so how can he criticise people for being interested in the sideshow promotional activity at Vape Jam? What did he expect? Ideal Home Exhibition?

Wow I can't agree more....
Everytime I go into my local b and m store I see more and more people coming in and buying their prefilled tanks to screw onto their pen type ecigs and off they go with the "cool dudes" blowing massive clouds in the seated area sniggering away... It does my head in.
Everyone is different and I understand that especially people that post on here are all passionate about their vaping and enjoy meeting up with likeminded people. I never have although I think I would like to, the only other vapers I encounter is on here and the occaisonal vaper in the smoking area outside the pub.
When I weigh up the pros and cons I don't think I'll be going to any of these vapejamfest type meets watching willy wavers show off their twincam turbo supercharged diamond encrusted mods or their atties and builds that they vape at silly watts and blow out more vape than a steam train from the 20s all hunting around for free juice, Tshirts and shit.
Maybe I'm just getting old and can't be arsed with the "young team" and should chill... I don't know???

Dear god that was a long read but 100% correct.
I was in my local vape shop a couple of months ago and i do rate them very highly on all counts including friendly. They cater to all so you do get the cloud chasers in there as well as the nanna's. One kid said to me in there one day (as i was making some fused 30 and 44 awg claptons for one of their customers who wanted to try them) he sneered at me because in between making and coiling the fused claptons i had a sit down with my taifun and vapourshark. He remarked that i wasnt a serious vaper because i dont blow massive clouds. One of the owners burst out laughing and told him how long id been vaping and how much gear i had and that its all horses for courses and that when i want to blow clouds i will and when i want to really enjoy a nice sit down are relax i will use a MTL tank. I then politely told him to fuck off and that i dont vape for him, for show or to show off, i vape for me and me alone and im not there to impress or wow him or anyone else.
Some people are just all about image and thats fine with me as long as they dont preach to me about it. I can and do blow massive clouds but its a time and place thing for me.

What Phil is saying is spot on, regarding the baseball cap wearing cloudblowing stuff and especially the sniggering at people using starter kits and the likes, this is what i class as Chav mentality.
Yes i sub ohm yes i blow clouds but i don't make out it is how everyone should vape, that is the vapers own choice of how too and what to use, buy.
It is almost always the Younger generation who feel they have to try to impress, show off and have the most expensive of equipment just to say look how much i have spent. There is nothing wrong with owning high end gear, I have got 3 myself as well as a load of other mods and tanks drippers etc that cost a lot less.
My point has always been as long as it keeps you off the cigarettes. even though at one stage i got misunderstood by some people on here i meant exactly the same as what P Busardo is saying I just said it differently and some did not like it. So i hope this helps clear up what i meant in the past.

I agree with him. I didn't go to Vapejam because I suspected there wouldn't be all that much there to interest a MTL vaper who's into e-pipes and vapes 50/50 12mg juice, but on the other hand I don't want to look down my nose at those who do things differently or sneer at people for the way they choose to enjoy themselves - it all looks pretty harmless, after all. 'Da yoof' are always bloody idiots about being 'in' and 'cool' wherever you go, it would be a shame to typify all 'cloud chasers' by their younger representatives. What we all have in common should be a much more interesting discussion than our differences and that viewpoint would ultimately lead to a more varied, balanced and interesting event, but sadly 'da yoof' is obviously where the industry thinks the money is.
Outstanding Phil, just outstanding ! About time the guys on the cigalike ( I know a chap who has been on it 5 years and loves it , never had a ciggie since ) and the sub ohm big cloud 200W guys are seen as absolutely the same - not smoking - that is all the matters.
