Phil Busardo's Rant.

Meh. He seems way too salty, not sure if he's telling the whole story. But generally I get his point, though don't fully agree with everything he says. A lot of UK vapers do care, it is not as bad as he paints it to be.

Good post @vapellie, but I'm not sure I agree with this.

We are all one big community

I think there's a huge division between the cloud chasers and the ones trying to stop smoking. To me it's like saying that people who like
Justin Beiber and Motzart are all part of one community because they both like music, but in reality we know that they are very different people looking for very different things, and in between there are many other shades.

I doubt that Vape Jam, or any other show, could survive by just relying on people who want to stop smoking, so I agree that it does benefit the industry, but unfortunately I suspect that all these shows will be purely about clouds in the future.

Devil's advocate here, but did you all stop reading after the first part?
He also said that the vapers who throw the cloud chasing sub-homies "under the bus" also don't get it either.
We are all one big community, vaping does need to appeal to "da yoof" (thanks @Crewella), otherwise you end up with a bunch of us old codgers grumbling about the government and what it was like in my day, etc.
As a side note, I loved the energy and enthusiasm of some of the younger "bro"s I was speaking to, and believe they would be far more able to convince their peers to make the change from smoking to vaping than most of us would be able to:
"Yo bruv, why u stil suckin on dat old analogue man, dat is proper old skool innit, better chuck some sick cloudz innit?! And yo mom won't even smell it on you, you just gon smell like vanilla!"
Interesting what @MrTeaTime said about zero nic cloud chasing non-smokers too. But then I guess why not? We can't espouse the virtues of vape and how harmless it is on the one hand and then get upset when people enjoy it purely as a hobby. Let them buy all the latest gear, it keeps the vendors in business, and I can think of many worse hobbies than chucking clouds - just as long as they don't do it in my local vape-friendly pub!
Like I said, devil's advocate here. I confess I rolled my eyes a-plenty at Vape Jam. The "booth babes" who clearly had never vaped in their lives; every time the DJ dropped another Phat Beat when I was trying to talk to a vendor; The chanting; The freebies being only given to those wearing "snap backs".
But I did leave feeling saddened at how much of a backseat advocacy had been given, and that was BEFORE Phil had posted anything. As it currently stands, an event like that can not take place next year, if there was the opportunity to have a well respected vape celeb spread some awareness I would have thought the organisers would have jumped on it. Wasted opportunity and bad event planning. Shame.

Nice post....no Devils advocate here..... Who has the right to tell anyone how to vape if doing no harm to others...... Phil b, the goverment, other vapers..... ?

My view, no one...

Reads like a rant/sulk to me, maybe the organisers wanted a fun day, not all TPD gloom, maybe they think he's up is own arse and not as important as he thinks he is...who knows...

I think there's a huge division between the cloud chasers and the ones trying to stop smoking.

I think so, a nutty mate of mine who works in a vape shop had an horrendous dry hit on his Noisy Cricket whilst serving a female customer, she walked out in disgust stating "This is fucking sick"

Not at all. As I wasn't vaping when last years Vapefest I didn't attend but since I started I've watched videos and listened to people's opinions on it. It seems to me that Vapefest is more 'grass roots' and seems to be more geared up to a load of different folks with at least one thing in common gathering in a field to generally be sociable, which for me is what the conventions should be about. I love the USA, but feel that Vape Jam was modelled on their format of show a little too much.

We do need a variety of Vapers to increase its popularity I agree, but when it comes to the cloud chuckers who do it just for show I question how many of those actually give a shit about what some of us are fighting for, or whether they'll just move on to a new craze if it becomes too difficult to do it.

They should've given Phil, Dimitri and Nick their stage time. Whatever your take on them personally they're prominent figures in the industry and they're the kind of people who we need to have a voice for us. In my very humble, very personal opinion it was highly disrespectful and sent the wrong message out entirely.

At what point do you become a cloud chaser? 20watts...50, 200..?

Bought a friend 2 isticks and pro tanks about a year ago, still uses them now, vapes at around 7 watts. he think my clouds are massive from lung inhaling a subtank at 25watts....sure he would think Phil b clouds are pretty big too and compared to him is a cloud chaser....!

I went to VapeJam enjoyed meeting people on the Friday evening in the hotel, very helpful engaging people i got some juice samples given that evening and someone lent me there charger as I was an amature and my 18650 weren't charged

I was slightly disappointed as I wanted a coilmaster kit but no one was selling them or if there were I couldn't get close of find a vendor who was. A lot of people around stalls giving free stuff so couldnt try some juices out have a chat with people.

Didn't get the "stage" or DJ booth more like. For me It would have been better if it was separated so if you wanted to go to a meet and greet or q&a you could, that way you would get the people who wanted to hear Phil talk go specifically

I was sad I didn't manage to meet up with anyone on here as this form has been great in helping me on my journey of stopping smoking. Its been 1 year since i had a cigarette around this time so to all on here thank you.
