Although to be honest the removal of each smoker from a life of tobacco is going to cos the state tax income, so funding each smoker to become a lower tax payer is going to hurt. So where will the boys in blue replace the dollar from? Do you think that every smoker should be chucked an iStick and a tank to help them off the ciggies?

Back to point. Interview was good. He nails it with how the industry should be. Market driven, innovative and that is what is keeping us off the fags IMO. Medically licenced vape sticks? Fuck that shit. I can understand health professionals giving advice and support and, in chronic cases maybe, there should be support. But the reality of the situation is that if people can afford to smoke they can afford to vape. Trouble is people are thick. They want spoon feeding. This leads us into nanny-statism. Regulation and taxation of sugary drinks. FFS, the evidence is there, smoke or don't smoke, choice is there for people. The news today is great but only what Robert West has been saying for ages - read this for claims of the 95% safer back in February http://www.clivebates.com/documents/vapebriefing.pdf - I think we covered it as news then.

Great to be showing the 40-odd% that think vaping is as harmful as smoking that it is a lot safer but bear in mind that tax loss again from people switching. Bear in mind the pending TPD / PAS 54115 and what the big tobacco / big pharma and now big vaping would like to happen. Fucked up world it is.

Cheers for the apologies. I missed the quote marks in Mark's message initially, maybe as they were in bold or maybe I need to stick my specs on this time of night. Optitions appointment for you might be on the cards too Maybe we are getting a bit tetchy with the news of the day. It *should* be positive. It just doesn't wholly feel like it. They should just leave the industry alone. I read the PHE report tonight, conclusion was eliquid is safe, devices are safe, vaping massively less harmful than smoking. But the regulation is still potentially there, and it could fuck us over.
