To clarify, when I opened the forum in a morning I would scroll down and when I got down to certain sections like the foreign language section, I had the option to close it via an arrow, then for subsequent visits that day that foreign language section would not be visible, sorry for any confusion.

I'm looking into a way to keep the header sticky on desktop and make forum categories collapsable on the homepage.

If the ads are covering the up and down arrows, you can use the customise option at the top right

and turn off fluid width

Not quite the same but if you change to Grid View in the above Customise options then it reduces how much scrolling you'll need to do.

When I click on the customize button the fluid width button is not available as an option, sorry to be such a bother

I'm on a Win10 desktop using Firefox and the 'Fluid Width' option isn't showing for me either.

It could be that the screen size is already as small as it can go. The fluid width is for larger screens
