Hi all,
i have a kinda stupid question, i can't understand why the mech squonk cost much? what the cost more than a regulated mod, can anyone tell why, as they seem to be prety simply to produce.

Thank You

I don't think they are, you can get some decent mech squonkers for about £30. Even if that product doesn't cost that much, the business will have overheads such as marketing and premices, and then the retailer will add thier markup. Smaller companies may have lower overheads but then production costs go up. None of these products are produced in thier millions so I think prices are pretty reasonable nowadays.

you know what i saw they are minimum on 200 USD mark so it's only because they do produce a limited number of unit?

200usd is quite high for a business to sell at. But yes I would imagine that's quite a limited amount per unit. The less of anything that's manufactured the more it costs. Some use premium materials, some factor in customer service and it also depends if they sell directly or is there a retailer markup on the price. Or maybe they have nailed the production process and are adding a huge markup.

don't get me wrong there are nice bit of kit, i mean like limelight, art & mod and Etc they are pretty much price between 200 and 300 mark but i found it hard to justify the cost, maybe it's me, but nevertheless are like them

Yes stuff like that, the material and labour cost would add up to a lot and if they're trying to make a living off it the retail price does end up pretty high. Your right though, for most of us it's pretty hard to justify the expenditure, bit that can be said for a lot of premium products I guess.

The mods you appear to be referring too are all made by small independant companies. Most of them if not all are hand produced and finished in small batches, this does and will increase the price of them. However i do tend to agree that some of them are overpriced for what they are, as they say each to thier own, purchase what you can afford or willing to afford and enjoy no longer being stuck purchasing and smoking the cigs.
At the end of the day no matter what mod or rda,rta your using if your no longer smoking then You Win.
If you really want to get one of these more expensive mods then each week save the price of 1 packet of the cigs you would have smoked and eventually you will save enough to get one, then all you have to worry about is where and how to purchase, as some of them are hidden away in secret closed Fb groups where you then have to lucky in the correct post to be able to purchase.

You could put together a perfectly acceptable mech mod for between £25-35 by buying a 3D printed enclosure, 510 kit, contacts & bottle. I've done it & performance is as good as the mechs I paid £100+ for & the satisfaction you built it.

That now has silvered out kit & contacts & is used daily.
Took around an hour tops to put together.

This looks like a great idea. Can everything be bought from the same place? Is there a site that you could recommend for parts? Are certain materials better than others (like for conductivity etc)?

Sorry for all the questions, this looks like something I could really get into.

I imagine there are plenty of YouTube videos showing how to put one together, it's sourcing reliable and decent quality parts that I would need help with.

I'll bet the first draw on something you've made yourself is immensely satisfying [emoji16]

A thread here has all the links you need. The one I got was Alumide as I already had a Rockmodz & liked the finish. Yeah the satisfaction is real & it gives you a better understanding of using mechs & the importance of keeping them clean & how to strip them down.
I'd recommend the silvered kit for the 510 & a little extra for silver plated copper strips as easier to keep clean, see the MM listings.
Any other advice just shout.
