pro tank 2 shorting out.

evening all, i have rewicked my pt2 and its now shorting. if i test it with just coil and base with the chimney its fine but once the tanks on it will not work. im sure everything is put back together ok so has anyone ever had this or any idea whats causing the short?

Hi @ breakbystealth do you make sure you pull the coil and wick down in tight enough? The base of the center post will cause the short if it touches the kanthel when reassembling it.

thats it, given up now. i cant seem to work this out. about a week ago it was working fine. rewicked it and i could not get any vapoer from it. its all fixed after cleaning and after the short problem its now coming in at 1.8 ohms with no shorts but cant get no vapor from it????? i said it before and i say it again i hate the pt2, even more now im wasting more time trying to fix it.

I know where you are coming from with it, I also have one but rarely does it get used now. Apart from loving my RSST and the Fogger, I would choose the iclear 30 over the Protank any day.

i have a fogger v2 also, but as much as i love the fogger nothing give as good a vape as my evods!! i have the fogger set up with cotton and a micro coil but to be fair i still think my evods are better. i think im just gonna get a dripper for at home and use my evods for out and about which is most of the time. the pt2 can stay in the vape box i give up on it again. i just cant work it out why im having so much crap with it.

If you have not used the same juice in it as you are using at the moment, then that might be a contributing factor. Other than that I do not know what to suggest.

i have squid ink in the evod and the fogger and there is not much in it to be fair. maybe a touch more vapor from the fogger but not much in it.

Sorry @breakbystealth are you refering to having Squid ink in an ordinary Evod miser now? What I meant was, what juice did you have in the protank 2? Was it one that you had used in the protank before without any issues?

yeah its squid in the pt2 also. was using it for weeks with not problems. have rebuilt it a few times too but then all of a sudden its got all mad and get no vapor from the damn thing! i have cleaned it and rebuilt it and still nothing?
