Well all my mods have built in protection for shorts, so although I have had one build that shorted, all that happened was the screen said "atomizer short" and it didn't fire, so I got my tweezers and moved the wire a little and problem solved. You ever shorted your box due to a dodgy build on an atty?
And which is cheaper - an ohm reader or a fancy box?
Chief, it is up to you if you want to trust your mod for ohm reading however inaccurate it could be, then go for it. I was trained by guys who run every build on a reader first before putting it near any mod, be it Mech or not.
Fine, newer chipped boxes have a bit more inbuilt safety, you could go the rest of your vape journey with nae bother at all just relying on the box. Hat off if that's what happens.
I'm just a bloke who has, after hearing them famous last words 'Ach, it'll be fine...', been picking bits of some cats finger off my shirt 2 minutes later....
And, for future reference - never use a firearm with a dodgy safety catch!!
Hence the feeling that the ohm reader is superfluous unless using a mech...
