Guys this week I moved to BCC coils! the T3, EVOD and Protank!

Almost everyone of them there are a burnt taste coming from them! The EVOD seems ok with the original kanger evod 1100MAH battery but the t3 has a hectic burnt taste and the protank is the same! This is despite me getting the best hits ever at the start. I am using a clone 650 mah battery and could this be causing the issue?

Basically, what am I doing wrong?

Many thanks for replies!

Hmmm... I'm wondering if perhaps you're just getting dry hits with the head that you're using. The vape is great at the start because it'll have taken time and soaked up plenty of juice, but then isn't getting enough juice to keep up.

I've only had to do this once or twice myself, but many people have recommended taking out the top wick/flavour wick from the coil heads when they find themselves getting dry hits. Usually, there's three wicks inside a Protank/Evod head - one is wrapped with the coil, the other two are loose and just soak up the juice. Sometimes, it's a bit too much material and it'll choke the wicking - particularly with thicker, higher VG juices. Try taking out one and see if it's better. If it improves a bit but not enough, try taking out both. If you find it gurgling and leaking - that usually means too much wick has been removed. It's a pretty simple process - you only really need some tweezers and maybe pliers to help get the post out.

Here's a short video showing you how it's done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FQi3wZWpE4

That's my recommendation though. It may well be an entirely different fault you're experiencing, but I would give this a try to see if it helps~

Thanks for the advice. Tried it on protank and it flooded the centrepiece. Wicks looked blackish so I rinsed with water and dried with hairdryer and put all wicks back in. Taste is better but nowhere near what it was at start.

I dknt vape that often but when I do I take maybe 4 hits at a time. Could that cause it to have a burnt taste?

Probably worth trying a dry burn - rinse and dry as normal, then just screw the head into the base and onto your battery, leave the main body of the clearomiser off, then give it a few presses of the button until the coil glows and burns off any residue.

Failing that, try replacing the head, or, better still, make your own coils

Where does one buy coil and wick from online? Basically, what would be best guys?

Many thanks for your help!

Stealthvape for all your wick and coil needs :-)

Does it matter which one I buy?

I'd probably start with something like 0.2mm Kanthal and maybe 3mm wick for a protank. One thing though, you need some way of checking the resistance of the coil.

There is a thread around here somewhere that shows you how to rewick a protank/evod, and videos on Youtube as well.
