Hey all,
So Ive been vaping for 3 weeks now I bought a skycig starter set and loved it, couldnt believe the instant effect of not wanting to smoke analogs anymore. So I did some minor research and ended up ordering some eliquid with which Ive been refilling the cartomizers
(?) that I purchased from skycig by removing the top and dripping the e juice into the padding (thanks youtube). Now the batteries are dying and I want to move on and get some new kit but I am honestly completely confused by what is out there! Can anyone recommend a good starting kit/point, Ill explain what Im looking for (or what Im thinking of looking for)
I want a decent vaping kit that I can use at home, Im presuming this is some sort of cartomizer tank setup?
I also want something like skycig so it is easy to carry round at work, and smoke at work without looking too unlike a cigarette, ease of use too). Im totally bemused with what Ive seen online so far, Im the only person I know that vapes and would really like to continue, after being an analog smoker for 20 years this seems to be THE answer to stopping with the "fags" and moving on while still enjoying that relaxing feeling.
So yeah thats what Im asking, what exactly should I be looking for? I kind of know what ejuices I like so far, but plan to continue trying new flavours, and I get the VG/PG thing.
Any advice much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi Moggers, i was just like you 2 weeks ago i smoked role ups for 35 years and spent a long time looking at different alternatives, I went for a JUSTFOG MAXI kit 12 days ago and have not smoked a fag for the last 11 days, I would recommend this to anybody, and have, it’s based around the "ego" stile battery so you can play with different tanks and the like. The biggest trick I found is the “juice," find a flavour you like and you won’t look back. I am also the only one that vapes at work and i have had no problems, and I don’t care what people think i look like doing it, the main thing is I have kicked the habit, best thing i have ever done. This site is fantastic for advice and help, and I am sure that you will be given great advice, I know I have. Stick with it, and i am hooked on the Alchemists Vodka and Lime.</SPAN>

A CE4 starter kit is the best one to go for. It is simple and the most reliable. You can later buy other types of clearomizers which can be used with the same battery. You can also buy another battery and use the clearomizers you have with it. Checkout POTV marketplace.

Kit is really down the the individual but you wont go to far wrong with a ego type as a starter, then its down to attomisers next I started with cleromisers and moved onto cartomisers(i prefer them) but with everything kit wise its each to their own. I also have gone vary volt/vary watt for at home.
There is no this is the best kit for you answer Im afraid as everyone differs.
As for juices just keep sampling away to you find a flavour/range you like.

Hi @Moggers and welcome to the Planet. Honestly, this is the nicest, friendliest and most helpful forum of any type I've ever been a member of and you can feel completely safe to ask any questions here, there's doesn't seem to be one bad egg anywhere on the Planet
:welcome2:

First up, well done on getting off the stinkies - remember that anything you use to vape has got to be a hundred times better than a fag! As far as kit goes, the others have pretty much hit the nail on the head when they say that there's no 1 kit that suits every newcomer. I started vaping 6 weeks ago and thanks to a friend that has also just started vaping I skipped the cigalike stage. Instead my very first kit was an ego-c tank system which was far better than any cigalike, but the tanks were a) leaky and b) fiddly to fill and clean - they also didn't seem very durable. Thanks to the lovely members on here I pretty quickly moved onto CE4 clearomisers. These are clear/coloured polycarbonate tanks with a built in atomiser and a removeable drip tip - remove it to fill the clearomiser (or clearo for short) and screw it back on to vape. The taste is far superior to the tanks and they are a doddle to clean and re-use, and I've never had any leaking issues with them. However, as they are an all in one unit, when the atomiser dies (you can tell when it's dead as it either starts to taste yucky, or just stops working!) you have to bin the whole unit. You can get some great deals on CE4 kits with one or two ego style batteries and a couple of clearos, but don't forget to get a charger too, although most of the starter kits come with one included. Some of the kits also include a free bottle of juice, or a carry case for all your bits and pieces. Have a look at the market place on here, or look at some of the vendors on the discount codes tab - most offer 10% off, bringing your costs down even more. If you go down this route, it's probably worth buying a couple of spare clearos if your budget allows - you'll need them eventually to replace the original ones and you may as well save on the postage at a later date!

A great alternative to the CE4s are their big sisters, the CE5s (I believe these are also known as CE4+s with some vendors, but don't take my word for it!). The primary difference is that the CE5s have replaceable atomiser heads (you can also buy replacement drip tips and polycarbonate tubes), meaning that you can just replace these when they wear out, rather than replace the whole unit which saves a bundle of cash in the long term. Again, it's worth having a few just so you can have 2 or 3 juices on the go at a time rather than faff about and clean 1 between juices. There are a few kits out there with CE5s.

As far as portability goes, I use both the CE4s and CE5s on an ego 650mah or ego 900mah battery every day at work. They seem to be rugged, reliable workhorses and live very comfortably in the back pocket of my jeans, where the fag packet used to reside. They look cooler than a pack of stinkies too!

Whatever bit of kit you eventually decide on, it's well worth investing a bit of time comparing costs with different vendors (and don't forget those discount codes!) as they do vary widely. But it's also worth having a look at the vendor reviews here to get some feedback on the individual vendors. www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php/122-Vendor-Seller-Reviews

Happy vaping whatever you decide,

Whirlybird.

Great replies and advice thanks everyone, after reading all that think Ill go for a ce4 setup to start off with, am i right in thinking I need:
2 or 3 ce4 clearomizers.
a couple of ego style batteries.
a charger
some ejuice.
Is that all I need to get started then?

Just one further question whats the difference between a cartomizer and clearomzer?

Looks like ill be right at home here :)

cartomizer= same thing that came with your skycig...a round metal cartridge, similar is shape to the filter on a cigarette.
clearomizer= clear tank-type system, normally with visible wicks (2 or more...sigh...sometimes 4...probably gonna end up with 32 the way the chinese carry on :-) ce4/ce5 etc are clearomizers

Bit late to the party but I'd say that's a great setup!
I find that with things like egos it's always worth having a couple on hand as you never know when they're going to go. Saying that though, my ego spinner has been with me now for 8 months and not died yet, ok I don't use it ALL the time but it's never missed a beat.

I'd recommend shopping around for the egos as you can get some great deals that include the battery, some CE4s, charger etc... and even make a jump into the world of variable voltage at the same time, enabling you to find your own personal sweet spot when it comes to throat hit and vapour temperature :)

You can even colour co-ordinate!! lol
