Hi all, i bought my first rba, a RSST. ive struggled with it for a few days but it seems sorted now after an ebay delivery of wire and mesh. please could someone explain to me the differences in what i might find between the different weave mesh's. Ive discovered that the number is the number of threads per inch, what i bought was 400 316 marine grade ss mesh. it seems to under wick a little. Pleasce could someone more experienced than me surgest an improved mesh.
Many thanks
Steve

#300 is better for thicker eliquids, #500 seems to wick better for thinner liquids

The finer the mesh the thinner the threads are too so the 300 is noticeably thicker and the 500 very fine

You could try a hybrid wick with some silica inside the mesh tube that may help

stealthvape[/USER] thanks, do you have a website and sell mesh
stealthvape is the only place I buy wick wire and mesh from as it is the best :)

See his signature for his website.

I use #400 mesh with a 2mm silica wick core on my rsst. Works great.

I used #400 mesh on my RSST,though I roll the mesh onto a piece of 0.3 mm kanthal wire to make sure it has a tube down the centre.By doing the "tube" method,I've only found it struggles initially to get going with an almost 100% VG mix in cooler weather but fixed by simply upping the wattage for a few vapes, indoors it has no issues. The best thing about mesh wicks is whenever the tank empties mid-draw,you don't get a lungful of burnt wick(like cotton wool) :P
