Pubs close again after punters test positive for COVID-19

Not being funny bud as i know you work for the NHS but isn't this what social distancing is for?
Unless they hadn't followed social distancing of course but then theres going to be questions like why the hell not.
exactly, which from past weeks we can see the majority are not following. stupid asswipes who have a temperature and coughing their guts up walk into a casualty department and protocol now is lockdown and do a full deep clean which means they had to close casualty and all staff in that area now have to isolate just in case theve caught it.

People are stupid :(
That's putting it mildly. I think it's more appropriate to say those people not following the guidelines are selfish, incompetent, delinquent and just arsewipes. A total disregard to their fellow human beings.
If they wanna be f****** stupid that's up to them and if they catch it they deserve what they get but the trouble is they are putting innocent lives of decent human beings at risk.

It all depends on your point of view.
I am not sure if you know my circumstances, some others on POTV do, I won't go into great length, but I have had for the last few years several chronic illnesses, plus side effects, back at the start of 2018 I spent 3 months in hospital, a further 3 months in my living room at home, followed by 6 months of not being able to walk more that a hundred yards. Last year I managed to meet some of my old friends for a few drinks in the local pubs, and to do a bit of shopping for myself instead of having to rely on my wife who still works.
Imagine being in my position. In March this year when I was confined to the house again, it was like being back at the start again, like the film Groundhog Day.

Now after three months I can get out of the house again, and see my friends.
In my two regular pubs the locals have been well behaved.
I do not wear a mask when I go out as the last time I saw a doctor over breathing difficulty, he said I probably have the onset of COPD, so a mask makes it worse, so I am exempt, good thing to, as I spent the last 8 years of work having to wear one for up to eight hours a day.

When I first started being able to get out of the house I explained to my wife that men usually die earlier than women, and that as she is 11 years younger than me, with the illnesses I have I am likely to only have a few years left to live. I don't take all of my doctors & consultants advice, as that would cut out most of my favourite foods, and alcohol.

Now that I can get out of the house again, and go to the pub to see my mates again, thanks to the slight relaxation of the covid rules, it annoys me somewhat when people call people like myself irresponsible.

If anything people who call me, and others in similar a situation irresponsible, are selfish themselves.
All I want is to enjoy what is left of my life (as long as finances permit) doing what I can to make the best of things.

If you deny me that (and others like me) would prefer seeing more people suffer from mental heath difficulties from isolation, and the infrastructure of the country deteriorate further, to the point where you may not have been infected with covid the country is so bankrupt that it is not worth living in. Then it is your self, and others of the same opinion that are being selfish, incompetent, delinquent and just arsewipes. With a total disregard to their fellow human beings.

The Government are giving the population £10 meal vouchers to be selfish, incompetent, delinquent, arsewipes and f****** stupid :hmm:

Not really food vouchers though.
They can only be redeemed in a restaurant, or gastropub.
So I assume that everyone who thinks those establishments should still be closed will be ripping them up. :18:

On a related, but slightly different note.
As most people on POTV know I have been fully supportive of Boris during both the handling of Brexit, and the corona virus.
However I think the government has made a cock up of this voucher scheme.
It was hailed as supporting the rekindling of the hospitality sector, in reality the part of this that needs most help is not the restaurants, nor the gastropubs, but the small "wet sales" only establishments, particularly the small but independent free houses that are generally located in rural areas such as villages. :)

Edited.

The Governments never liked independent or small pubs anyway, has never really supported them, they imposed a alcohol duty escalator some years ago, introduced by Labour, in 2008, the traitors. There was too much cash flying around, too many private deals, dodgy deals (in their eyes), the black economy. I bet they love all this cashless payment lark. A trace for everything, and everyone traced to a place.

Hmm, the good old alcohol duty escalator.
Introduced by Labour who were supposed to be the stalwart of the working class, that were well known for liking a pint after work, whilst still retaining the subsidy on the house of commons bar so they could still get cheap beer, wine, and spirits after a long day in the commons before heading off to a restaurant for a an expense account meal. :18:

Not in the local in regularly use, still pay by cash if you want. :)
Black economy, I prefer to think of it as a bit of a grey economy. :)
Can't wait till a few of the other lads are back around, I need some plastering done at my house, and a few other jobs doing at me mum's, all in the interests of stimulating the local economy. :)

Is that a politically correct thing?
