Raguri Rant - Sub Ohming and Newbies.

Please don't go.

Oh noooo oh oh oh oh, I need you so-oh.

I hope there's karaoke tomorrow night.

I love all types of tits. I've loved bird watching since I was a child. I could do with a new pair of binoculars.

I have the kit to Sub oHm, a Sig 100w+ which holds 2 18650 Batteries, I use Samsung 25r, I tried 0.8 oHm on a Dripper and nearly Choked myself I'm happy Vaping around !2w-15w on a Kayfunalike and a Lemo Drop Coiled between 1.2 oHm and 1.9oHm. That keeps me happy.
I was a VERY heavy Rollie Smoker 18 months ago, and if I began Vaping now I would be convinced I'd need to Sub-oHm at 50+w, I think a few Newbies may go down this route though.
It took me over a Year to figure out the difference between a Shit 18650 2200mAh Battery and a DECENT, reliable 18650 2200mAh Battery, and that was just for Mechs. I think the Vast majority of Vapers will never want to use 30w+ or go below 1oHm once they try it, the problem arises when kit to achieve Sub oHm High Wattage is cheap as chips, but Batteries to do it with safely are expensive.
My twoppenorth!

Agreed. I still mess about with diferent coils, but my standard coil is between 1.4 and 1.8 on a dripper at no more than 22 watts, often lower. It produces good flavour and a very good amount of vapour clouds. Tbh I think it performs better than sub ohms, but ya gotta go there yourself to find that out I guess.

Yep lemon80 but to any New Vapers I come across I always advise to start slowly and sensibly. It's easy and cheap to move to higher power/sub oHm IF you enjoy steady Vaping.
There is a good reason why most folk don't go straight from riding a Rev and go Scooter to a 900cc Tyre Burner!!

Totally agree Raguri

Pisses me off when vendors sell the Apsire CF Sub Ohm battery and an atlantis as a STARTER KIT!!

Even if you push the safety and knowledge issues aside, it's still like learning to drive in a Ferrari

Yeah...let's rant some more!! :)

I can imagine people buying that with 30ml of e liquid, expecting it to last a month and getting really pissed off when they've vaped the whole lot in a day.

If you are replacing cigarettes you don't need to blow clouds! Many experienced vapers gave up with fucking cigalikes ffs.

I like my vaping,I like the devices I use,I like to vape at around 60-90 watts,to do this I used to use 18650 VTC4's but soon tired of constantly recharging them & the need to modify RDA's to allow cooler vapour.

I now run lipo cells(as I wasn't convinced of the authenticity of the vendors claimed stats for 18650's)which allow crazy amp draws safely, and to reduce the amp draw still further I use 8.4 volt packs. These allow 90 watts of vapour from unmodified attys for far longer time periods than the VTC4's.

Sam demonstrated cloud chasing to me,I decided it was the most suitable method to keep me off tobacco and as I used to be an apprentice electrician I had at least a basic understanding of the safest way to achieve this.

I have seen POTV posts stating "can someone tell me the resistance of x wraps of kanthal?" and further along the thread they reveal the thickness of wire, the former they use & that the reason they're asking is THEY DON'T EVEN OWN AN OHMS METER/MULTIMETER!

I have also seen posts asking whether a very hot mod/battery is safe.

I have nothing to add to this discussion other than....

do your research before trying to emulate Sam/use a sub-ohm setup.
