Do you make that just by itself? No other additions?

Ah right. Silly me. Thanks, il make some up later. Any tips on steeping for that? I normally just leave custards for around a month and let them get some air for a few hours now and again.

I have tried a few premium juice like mothers milk etc and to be honest i found mothers milk quite sickely and i thought it tasted just like hangsen strawberry milkshake with a fancy bottle and 4 times the price.
I'v tried a fair few premium juices, that I found the I didn't like, or found a cheaper juice with the same flavor profile I liked more.

I comes down to taste being subjective, but this thread can be quite handy for finding a "taste alike" recipe for those premium juices, and then tweaking it to suit your own taste.

I plan next week on mixing up a few my new ones from kandi head (vape 247) just wondered a opinion on 10 or 20 % mixes do fruit take longer than mint do you use less.

I have never used Kandi Hed commentates, but would always recommend mixing up a very small batch at 10% without nicotine to get a idea of how strong the flavour is, and then go form there.

I have a spreadsheet I user, every time I get a new flavour I mix up 10ml at 50/50vg/pg 10% flavour and test it every week for a month and keep a note of how the flavour changes, as some take much long then others to really develop.

And finally what you recommend on steeping time and how you do it like lid of in a cool dark room or in fridge etc. I understand everyone have different preferences and opinions and that's what i am looking for what works best for you. Cheers guys

Steeping is another personal preference issue you will find it hard to get any consensus on. I have found fruits take less then custards, fruits being almost ready to go straight after mixing, to custards taking weeks to become there best, but again, there is no right or who, its what works for you.

Though I think most people will agree to keep it in a cool dark place (a cupboard, rather then the fridge).

I find taking the lid off useful, as it will let any alcohols used in the concentrate evaporate off, this can be speeded up with putting the bottles in a warm water bath, but I do this for no more then 30mins at a time, as you could also weaken the flavour by evaporating off the aroma molecules too.

TL;DR
Mix at 10%, store in a cupboard for a couple of weeks, shaking every day, let it breath for 30 mins ever couple of days, vape, take notes.

(again this is just how I do it, there is no right/wrong, its all about what works for you)

peps1 I'm after some help making vanilla custards. I'm trying to get a jax or hodges homebrew style. Not necessarily a clone, just something close. I've made a couple of the GVC and the best was 12% vanilla custard, 2% dulce de leche and 2 drops of ethyl maltol per 10ml and it's decent, but not right. Have you got any tips or any custard recipes that have worked for you?

Yep, as Jugg1es says, you can up the custard a little as you going for a really dominant flavour.

Also try one with dulce de leche, and another with bavarian cream, or even a banana cream at 1-2% ish (wont be really banana flavoured, just smooths thing out nicely)

Also also try sweetener over EM, and a small amount of something like a caramel or brown sugar @1-2% while dropping the sweetner/EM down to 1 drop per 10ml.

This is one I have been really enjoying, and you could up the custard a little to taste.

Creme Brulee V3.1

Bannana Cream 1%
Bavarian Cream 3%
Brown Sugar (TPA) 3%
Caramel 2%
Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP) 7%

Sweet Caramel/Burt sugar on the inhale, and a really creamy exhale.

(You could go upto 5% on the Bannana Cream if you want to get more of a Jimmy the Juiceman crème brûlée territory, but I found at 1% it just really helps round out the flavors and not taste like one of thouse foam bannan pick'n'mix sweets.

Also can add 1 drop per 10ml of sweeter if you want it supa sweet, but iv found the Brown Sugar and Caramel sweet enough, and give that very slight bitter burnt sugar taste).

Made a batch of this but replaced the dulce de leche with a praline concentrate which gave a slight hazelnut taste

That's about what I do, but taste after 1,2,3,4 weeks and keep notes, as it may turn out you like it at say 2 weeks.

And give them a bloody good shake every day.

Record everything in a little cook book note pad, or spread sheet, that will then soon become your most useful tool to mixing juice that right for you.

peps1 just to say pal that the work you've done compiling the information in this thread has really helped me out when researching for my own recipie attempts. I was reviewing how much Bavarian Cream is typically used in different types of recipies, and which use EM and sweetener additives so it was a great source of inspiration and I've also noted a few flavours to pick up along the way sometime.

Having all these recipies, whether they are dead accurate or not is a cracking resource to have in one place , mainly because how much time it saves me, and time, for me and I spose most people, is a premium and in short supply.

I read some of the previous pages of the thread retrospectively last night and was disappointed to note that the tone was getting all politically correct and 'thou shalt not DIY my mighty recipie'. I can kind of understand their view but was still disappointed. Coca-cola is the biggest brand in the world and has a long line of clones, it's greatest rival uses more flavouing and less Co2 and to me tastes better. Even the big boys like coca-cola have to take it on the chin and suck it up.

Anyway the thread's convo has moved on since then so I don't want to dredge it all up again the point of this thread is to say top 'kin work mucker, its a great resource to have and I'm really grateful you bothered your arse to do it for us. :D

peps1 that's great thanks for advise i see everyone has different opinions preference taste etc and like everything in my life i do it my way but always have a ear open for advise so i will knock up a couple batches and report back. I have been going toward 70/30 pg high as i like a throat hit but on the mint ones i have made 50/50 or 70/30 i found no difference at all huge vapor decent throat hit 0.5,0.8 ,1.0 ,1.2 coils in tanks 0.2 , 0.3, 0.5 etc on drippers but i think that's down to the mint side of things. Eucalyptus is a big hit for me can't get enough of it

VZ Dragon Fruit

Hi,

I can't seem to find the VZ Dragon Fruit anywhere?! Its been a mission trying to get flavours, some sites have it all then you find one is sold out. This whole week I've had multiple orders coming from various websites lol.

I checked out chefsvapour but his prices are higher than other places where I got the TFA flavours, he also doesn't have the vz dragonfruit and the discount code didn't work either.

any help guys on where to find this concentrate please? I'm trying to stick as close to the recipe as possible to get the right taste.

Thanks
