The thing is that in the unlikely event that they were universally elected, they would immediately stand down.
Agreed there would be temporary anarchy but things would quickly settle down and communities would start to manage themselves.
Now.. If only a few come to power - it sends a message. People are fed up with the current elective oligarchical system and want a better selection of government candidates that actually reflect the will of the people and not the sponsoring corporations. Not a massive jump but something that frees people from being forced to not vote or vote for the lesser of 2 evils.
Doesn't it annoy you when unpaid taxes from large corporations could clear a massive portion of national debt? When our country is forced into wars that the people don't want? That unemployment is rife? That people that are genuinely ill are being forced back to work? Nuclear fission power stations built after witnessing the problems in Tokyo? Poisoning the land to get enough shale gas to last us less than a decade? I could go on...
The system is broken my friends, this may or may not be the solution but at least it's new thinking
