What's new

Russell Brand May Have Started a Revolution Last Night

So we end up with 400 or whatever NOTA MPs. Then what? I suppose knowing fuck all, they'll at least be on par with what we've had for centuries.

It seems that even spoiled voting forms are counted, what would the result be if the number of spoiled votes was greater than the votes for any one party? Who gets in then? (Hopefully not whoever was in power already,or would it simply be the party that got the most votes still)

The thing is that in the unlikely event that they were universally elected, they would immediately stand down.
Agreed there would be temporary anarchy but things would quickly settle down and communities would start to manage themselves.

Now.. If only a few come to power - it sends a message. People are fed up with the current elective oligarchical system and want a better selection of government candidates that actually reflect the will of the people and not the sponsoring corporations. Not a massive jump but something that frees people from being forced to not vote or vote for the lesser of 2 evils.

Doesn't it annoy you when unpaid taxes from large corporations could clear a massive portion of national debt? When our country is forced into wars that the people don't want? That unemployment is rife? That people that are genuinely ill are being forced back to work? Nuclear fission power stations built after witnessing the problems in Tokyo? Poisoning the land to get enough shale gas to last us less than a decade? I could go on...

The system is broken my friends, this may or may not be the solution but at least it's new thinking

Forget political ideology - this is simply choice

I just wanna vape!

And if the gov and corps have their way, you wont be able to without huge taxation or need of prescription at inflated prices to the NHS/taxpayer for inadequate gear!

As he is keen on an egalitarian socialist system why doesnt he start sharing his own wealth. Sure its substantial and help many people but think we know what his answer will be

He'd probably be happy to do so as long as everyone else did the same.

Now that would be a revelation.. we really would be 'all in it together' then.

How do we know that he doesn't already, a quick check on google reveals he supports 7 charity's , and who should he share it amongst , 11 mil doesn't go far spread out to 64 million people

He might support charities but he still has millions in the bank and probably more than he can ever spend. If he is serious let's see him walk the walk not talk the talk
