Ok, so I want a series Mech box, so I though I'd have a pop at building one. I have some experience with electronics so I have a bit of a base knowledge. I've spent a little while working things out and as far as I can see this should work. Comments please?

A bigger version of the diagram can be found here

::Edit::

Ok, so I've gone a little further making it a Parallel/Series switchable box:

And for shits and giggles, with added Volt meter:

I'll probably start out with the basic series and work upwards if these diagrams are OK.

They look okay to me,though I'm easily confused when it comes to switching parallel/series diagram(I'm scared in case I end up soldering connections that simply short-circuit 1 cell)

First diagram looks spot on.

When switching parallel to series things get a little more complex, if you can find a switch to do the job that will take 30A loading you will probably need another box to house it! I have not tried adding switching parallel/series so not looked into it too far, but I am pretty sure that you will need to do it with a couple of FET's to keep it relatively compact. Ultimately a bit pointless IMHO do one or the other , or build a 20A raptor mod makes more sense.

Hope that helps, if you need a hand give me a shout!

gords1001 or Chegs may be able to assist.

Cheers Nanook.

Chegs. Cheers. As long as the basic Series is OK, then that's fine as that's what I'm building starting out. The switching will be for another box afterwards. Once you've got your head around the switching it's not that bad. If you look at the diagram top 2 pins put it in series and the bottom 2 parallel.

Cheers! At least I know the first is spot on. More research will have to be done for the switching. Understand the one or the other thing, it's more due to the 'cos I can mentality I have... :P

Your difficulty is finding a fer that will switch from 3v - 9v if you do let me know.

Once you find one. Just build two sleds. One series one parallel and use an xt60 or deans connector and velcrow to secure the sled.

It would be as easy to build two boxes though tbh. And if your doing that, my personal advice would be to use lipo packs rather than li ion and sleds. Its a far far far better power source.

I've been told about Lipos, it's possible I'm gonna build a few different boxes but the Series is just a starter to see how it goes. As for switching, there's a guy called Joe Kensinger over on G+ from the US who makes a box called the Power Box which does switch. I may contact him and see if he'll give me some info.
