What's new

Shinyitus has got me wanting

I suppose I need to pay a little more for what I need, keep buying cheap stuff and not always happy with it
To be honest you end up paying more and thinking "should I of done that" But then when it comes all is forgotten and you are very pleased with your purchase :)

Before I buy a DNA, I need to know more about them. Be pointless spending more on something I'm just going to use the same as others. Searched for DNA here and just brought a load of posts for various ones and not really helpful to know exactly why they are desired so much

They can be from various manufacturers. Its the Evolve DNA board and chip used that is good and makes them more expensive.
Never owned one myself so can't say alot about them other than you can connect to pc and do stuff, and are best for temp control. It was evolve who first done temp control.

DNA chips are produced by a company called Evolv. Here's a bit of their history - https://www.evolvapor.com/company

Evolv were the first company to produce a chip for a regulated device (let's simply refer to that as Wattage). That's a pretty big advancement for vaping.

DNA boards are class leading when it comes to Temperature Control. You can hook a DNA board up to a laptop and mess around with all sorts of settings, and modify the look of the screen. There's also other tools such as device monitor.

Do you use Temp Control? If not, it might be more mod than you need. If you do, then it is the best device for TC. Even so, some of the other less expensive chips nowadays are pretty good at TC.

They are excellent devices. I have quite a few of them...

I've just been watching a few YouTube videos. Looks cool with the themes but can't see me utilising any other features. I've never tried temp control. Happy enough with a cool draw from mesh. At least I know not to waste money on a DNA just yet

If you use temp control they are excellent, they are just very accurate, plus they are built with the better parts rather than the cheapest (supposedly) and i believe at one point were the first fairly rugged board chip on its own (i think)

Now tho, other brands boards are also waterproofed, and dna boards will drain batteries if left out and for some they r unnecessarily complicated, and not as user friendly

Think I'll leave the DNA out of my shinyitus for now. Thank you all for your help x
The main reason i want one (sort of) right now is cause they have 3 amp charging and they r durable because i drop things alot, but the hyperion went overboard a little. And the steam craves just didnt leave me wanting em. The new geekvape is cool, because it is an aio essentially, and its not as beefy.

Geekvape isnt gonna run out tho, like billet boxes and stuff like that, so im just seeing if someone can get the form factor down, maybe figure out how to make em a little shorter. A shorter hadron lite type deal, if possible.

Then maybe the price will drop, etc etc.
If i didnt have more mods then is appropriate, i would be looking at that geekvape a lot harder

Edit-one of the things stu told me when i was pestering him one day, is that the board needs to use thicker wires than the old ones for the increased charging, etc, so making it smaller may also indicate less than optimal construction, so, it is what it is... (not saying geekvapes is, just talking about making em smaller, they just need to figure out how to do both, make em smaller and keeping em to spec)
