Should I just buy complex recipe concentrates instead?

Are we all just wasting time trying to perfect a raspberry lemonade or spotted dick with custard etc, when you can just buy concentrates which already have that flavour and all you have to do is mix it at 20%?

Discuss.

Good question. There's something very satisfying about tinkering with your home made recipe until you get something that is "premium" quality. By the same token it's nice to buy chefs vapour ginger cake concentrate and just chuck in the pg, vg and nic and get vaping.

I do not waste much time on my mixing, I mix two or three, batches of 100ml. They will either be the same as a batch I made before or more likely a slight variation based on a wee tweak that I think will make it better.
Nobody else is going to tailor a flavour to my tastes in this way.
I am sure others enjoy the experimenting and spending hours developing loads of flavours or playing with other peoples recipes.

For me it is just 30 min every couple of months and a gradual development of my flavours.

So no we are not all wasting our time.
Only you can decide if you are.
So many choices of how to do it, there is a method to suit most peoples inclinations and creative urges.

I have 6 or so recipies on the go just now, 1 I got from a mate, another I got online and the rest I made up coz I fancied it.
All of them are now at v2 or 3 in their development as I tweek them to suit me.......
Once these are perfected to me I'll start on some more.
I save all my recipies and variations on my tablet in the potv juice calculator.

But surely to get to the stage of being confident enough to make 100ml you must have spent time playing around with smaller mixes and percentages to find something you like. Or are you just one of those absolutely wild people that will just bang a few concentrates in a 100ml mix and vape it regardless of it tasting like armpit if you get it wrong?

I did start with half a dozen concentrates, mostly baccy, mixed in single flavour batches and did some blending and dripping and found that a bit of ry4 a bit of cuban cigar and a bit of virginia made a better vape for me than the hangseng baccy I was vaping, so not a high bar to get over. I probably had one more mixing session with 10 ml batches and since then only 100ml batches.
That original mix has evolved into a couple of variations with a more baccy flavours, fruit flavours and rum.
My latest tweak involved absinthe in a small amount which is ok but next time it will get more, and so it goes on, easy and not too time consumeing.

Playing around with flavours can be great fun but if you can get single flavour concentrates for complex flavours that you already like they are useful especially when time is short and you have just realised that you have run out of juice. .. not that that happens these days. ...

Well, if you're happy with jars of ready-made pasta sauce, you might think it a waste of time learning to cook. Then again...
