Should I roll my own?

I don't really see the need, unless you're interested in it from the hobby aspect. If your ADV costs £1 a bottle and you're happy with it, you won't be saving much.

I've been mixing my own from the beginning and it's taken me 18 months to perfect a couple of juices, but overall, you can't match the real quality premium juices.

You do not think she can improve on her £1 a bottle adv quite easily by a bit of gradual tailoring?
I take your point it is not a huge saving obviously you cant make a huge saving on something that does not cost much.
If the adv gets better there is less need for "premium" juice and savings can be made there.

Yes, I agree she can, that's why I mentioned the hobby aspect and my own experiences. DIY juices are rarely "good to go" and with a bit of tinkering you can come up with some great juices, but Vicky did say she's not interested in this aspect.

Last time I tried to re-order my favorite juice, I could only get 2 bottles. Plus the £2 postage. So you have to order again the next week. And sometimes they don't have it in your nic strength. Or you forget, and it is close to the weekend.. or whatever.

I could make a huge order, if it would let me. Because the way it is I am going to spend £100 per year on postage. So there is that.

But I do kinda like the idea of having 300ml of home brew steeping in the airing cupboard.

So it is more a question of balancing repeat buying lots of tiny bottles or mixing up huge batches and being in control.

..I don't mean making a gallon of juice, but there is nothing to stop me making 5 30ml bottles with different twists.

So I could probably still save £150 per year?

Saving a £1 or a £100 is still a saving.
Mixing your own means never stressing waiting for postie
Aniseed juices taste good to go straight from the bowl(to me)so the tweaks can be tasted and adjusted "on-the-fly"

I like aniseed/licorice juices,I've collected a variety of permutations of these over the last year which vary from clones of premium juices(that vary from just as good as the original to WTF is this supposed to be)I'm still looking for a lemon sherbet type concentrate to resume mixing my "Aniseed Ball" flavour juice(aniseed 10% & 6% lemon sherbet)as my supplier of lemon sherbet stopped doing concentrates and the couple of alternative suppliers their LS wasn't quite the same taste, then I ran out of aniseed & the new concentrate was way stronger so obliterated the lemon. Then I went off on a tobacco concentrate quest, then changed to fruits, then mint+koolada, then koolada in everything, then back to fruits. These days,my daughter has become the mixologist so I've taken to simply pointing out I'm running low on juice & leaving her to mix up 70+ ml of whatever variety takes her fancy. :D

You don't have to wait for the postie to deliver you some new juice...

(If you have mixing supplies in, you can just create a new flavour yourself)
