Siren V2 issues

Hi apes,
I am having some issue with flavour in a Siren V2 22mm. have not used the tank for 2 years but I remember having good flavour.
The flavour is inconsistent, has good flavour , few pufs it goes then it comes back, sometimes is weak through all pufs and sometimes it is harsh on throat. had a few builds , kanthal 26g at 2.5mm , ss 24g at 2.5mm and an ss clapton 2.5mm , my standard wicking . does not leak or gurgle but something is not right .

Never really rated the Siren v2 for flavour personally. I think @John R is a fan and might be able to help.

Thin out the cotton tails. Too much cotton and it won't wick fast enough especially with a clapton or 24ga. Stick to 26 or 28ga. 2.5mm 8 ish wraps and slightly thinner cotton tails

I find the 22mm a bit inconsistent for flavour whereas the 24mm shines for me. It might have something to do with the liquid VG ratio if you're using the straight glass on it. Bubble glass alleviates the wicking issues somewhat but it's just not as good as its big brother unfortunately.

the flavour is good for me while it has it, I will play a bit with some builds and see. I have bookmarked a few other more recent tanks but not really looking for another tank as I really like this one as design and functionality.

I have the 24mm Siren V2, and have good consistent results with it, I know you have the 22mm version, but you may want to try the set up I have on mine and see how you get on with yours, who knows it may help.
I have a simple wire wrap coil @ 1.1ohms and 12 watts using a 60/40 ratio juice. The flavour is not incredible, but good, I use it a lot as it’s my out and about tank. I hope this may help a bit.

The only way I get decent flavour from the Siren v2 ( 24mm) is in TC with nife30 coils. Kanthal just doesn't perform in this rta for me at all.

I use nothing but Kanthal A1 (24ga primarily), have some SS316L i test every now and again(it's nice enough in temp control), but usually end up going straight back to Kanthal. It's definitely a ball ache using thicker juices in it, but it mostly holds up if you don't mind rewicking and dry-burning often, with 50/50 and high PG juices it'll go for ages. I've used 2.5 all the way to 4mm ID coils in it, and for me the larger ID can work better with the thicker high VG juices i use, the key is thinning and trimming your wick ends enough to support the juice channels(you can make it work regardless of the ID) and the wick not being loosy goosey but also not too snug/tight in the coil.

It can be a finnicky tank, sometimes a build works great and i get great vape time, other times i'll do the same build and it's f**king me about within 24 hours. Of course, in my case i'm using the 24mm, so ymmv. I'm using some MTL clapton(Kanthal again) wire for my current build because some malaysian juice i have seems to gunk the simple wire like a mofo.

Back when i use to vape 80PG juices, it was an easy week per week coil, flavour all day.
