smok scar flavour loss

I'm using single micro coil 1ohm pure cotton wick on a mech mod. I lose flavour extremely fast. I never let the cotton go dry so its never burnt but I have to drip directly onto the coils to keep them really wet to get good flavour. I have to take the whole top cap off and put liquid right onto the coils instead of actually dripping in the top.

Any ideas of how to solve this?

depends what liquid you are using, found that the thicker VG liquids or 70.30 vg/pg seem to work better on a dripper. also with cotton wick on a single coil build you can wrap the cotton between posts and pretty much fill up one side of the well and that should hold easily 20-25 drops which will keep it nice and wet and give lots of flavour and throat hit

Try putting less cotton in the actual coil. It sounds like it's too tightly packed in. Before you wet the wool with liquid you should be able to easily slide the wick back and forth in the coil. If there's resistance to the movement them the wick is possibly too tight.

That's where I've been going wrong! Brilliant thank you :)

I was just about to say 'wicking' :D

I've taken to putting in much less cotton and just dripping more often too which also means less fuss and mess when switching flavours.

try doing this on your scar.. then you'll know all about flavour hit!

2 x 14 wrap 0.32 kanthal nano coils ( wrapped around blunt needle from bottle filler!

angle coils upwards 45 degrees.
feed cotton through coil, then go between post and over and under the second coil
do the same again with the second coil . through posts then over and under first coil.
0.7-0.8 ohms of intense throat hit.
using snake oil on it and its blowing me outa my boots with the flavour

So the wick coming out of the upper end of the coil goes through the 2 posts and over then under the other coil. What about the bit of wick coming out of the other end of the coil? Just trim it?

And wouldn't this block the airholes as they are placed under the coil.

no becuase the coils are angled up at 45 degrees and the cotton goes over the top then tuck under leaving a gap of about 2mm between wick and air holes
