Sonic steeping

USon steeping is definitely the way forward in my eyes. Who has 2-4weeks to wait for a juice to 'come good'?

Warm water, give it a blitz for half and hour, leave it a day, give it another blitz and you're most of the way there.

Great on custards but still good on fruits, strawberry liquids get 'rounder' to my palette. Give it a go, just make sure the lids are on tight ;)

schlinky I've not mix a batch yet but do have a custard in the cupboard and have just had two 10ml bottles of custard delivered that will need steeping so do I just stand the bottles up in warm water ?

Yep, if they're full they should stand up in the water. The USon will heat the water a little further too so they'll get a nice warm bath which helps too.

I find that quite disturbing- 1 that some juices might have such shit as you say.
2 that you are happy to vape it as long as it does not separate out
I think it's probably grain alcohol and some aromatics, not harmful, certainly tasted rank on it's own though.

crunchynut when i stick em i find the water does get quite warm after 3 cycles so I take em out. I know too much heat can affect nicotine by almost burning it away. So i have heard by a reputable juice vendor. Use cold water after a few cycles check temperature and replace with cold water. Bottles can get warm as well.

Im a noob so this is my personal exp

Im using the Adli US.

I've never had any problems with how warm the water gets, yeah it gets quite hot but nothing too bad. But I use quite thick plastic bottles, but I've never had any problems with it in my experience. Obviously as long as you don't keep it running for hours and leave 1-2 minutes before each cycle it's fine.

Somebody posted in the past week about a glass bottle shattering in one.Only case I have heard of so imagine there must have been a crack or other flaw in the bottle, but worth knowing about.

You would be correct, and that would be me. The bottle was absolutely fine, no cracks etc..the problem was that as the juice warms it expands a bit, plastic bottles flex so allow for this but glass doesn't!. Yes I may have had the bottle filled to the top with juice BUT I shan't be making the same mistake again. I now make and sonic them in plastic and then transfer to glass, or smaller bottles afterwards

After 2 days putting my first custard mixes thro' the USon, I can confirm that it speeds things along. Saved at least a fortnight.
What was quite peely-wally is now getting a nice tint and looking far more like an adequate Custard juice.

Another damned good idea from on here!

So I read any l about this "sonic steeping" yesterday and registered to ask about it to see someone else had already done it, so thanks OP. Two weeks steep time just doesn't work for me, I've had to hit my newest mix early and the flavour isn't quite there, I think using the sonic to get the job done in an evening is going to be better for me.

So, after reading this threaad i popped into my local Aldi on the way home from work in the hope they'd still have one but as anyone who shops in Aldi knows, those special buys move like they're afraid of the place, out of stock. As you can never tell when stuff will come back and I'm a sucker for upgrades and will jump to the high end straight away if entry level isn't available, I'm getting this:

Lakeland Sonic Jewellery Cleaner in speciality cleaners at Lakeland

Bigger than the Aldi one and has temperature control which should be handy, not sure what timer settings are available as it doesn't say on the description. Once I have it I'll have a play and get a review put together.

See you soon.
