We recommend nichrome and flat nichrome so much we really ought to put a sticky up on how to prepare the coil before firing. It's no big deal but the coil will not work evenly without it and I bet quite a few have written it off as unstable before finding this out.

I didn't know it had to be prepared like this but will give it another try. Did take me by surprise how fast it heated up

Interesting. Either my coiling skills are shit hot (unlikely as 50% of my coils get ripped out lol) or I've been extremely lucky. Whenever I use it, couple of quick pulses on the ohm reader, ensure no hot spots or legs, quick squeeze & check. Bang it on the deck, wick, soak & away I go. I haven't used it to any great extent but don't treat it any different to any other material.
Actually what @eyeball kid is saying is right but just I've never noticed it being any more awkward than any other material.

Tried it in a rda. Prepared it as suggested but results still not great. Flavour ok but can't put any serious wattage through it without tasting burnt
