Nothing to do with answering a question, bez.

May I draw your attention to your post that I replied to.

"Aye, totally agree, but pretty much everything she’s saying she asked him to be clear about in his message, he’s done the opposite. It’s like he’s listened to her saying “can you be clear about this, this, this..” and deliberately done the opposite.
He’s no communicating the strategy with the first ministers and they are reading about it in the newspapers. Quite reckless and irresponsible."

As you can see you stated that she asked him to be clear, do you not consider that a question ?
If you ask someone, it is a question, whether direct, or indirect, it is a question.

So yes your post had everything to do with answering a question, zou. :)

Come on people. Read between the lines.
Boris has had the virus so thinks he's immune. He only cares about the economy now, not us lesser mortals.
Get back to work and stop claiming benefits. [emoji6]

I think that is fair enough mate.
I've been on 50% pay for two years, and can't claim any benefits.
So I reckon all these buggers getting 80% should get back to work pronto. :18:

That is in truth how I saw it your explanation with the examples is how he should of portrayed it the biggest problem was it was so vague and all wild hand gestures people can listen to what he said and interpret half a dozen things if they miss a sentence just because the speech was ramblings of a mad man I like boris in certain ways but clarity he has not got

changing the buzz words is daft I’m not sure why we have them do any other country’s use them it just confuses the issue when you change them will he change them again

I agree about the clarity, but in my opinion it was fairly easy to understand if you have maintained an interest in the subject over the last weeks. Also to be fair to him it was not supposed to be one of the "daily update" briefings, more of a breifing that we had reached the goal of the phase 1 of the governments plan, and say that phase 2 was now going to be implemented, and that this would be explained more on Monday, with further details updated during the week.

The change of the words from "stay at home" to "stay alert" (i assume taht is what you meant by "buzz words" in my opinion had to be done, how can you have a "catchphrase" (for want of a better word) that say's stay at home, when you are easing down on the regulations by telling people they can be outdoors all day if they wish, and encouraging people to go to work if conditions allow at their place of work.
Now that would have been confusing, stay at home, but go out, so I think the change to stay alert was quit right under the circumstances.

So going by the formula below that they showed when BJ was confusing the masses, the current covid alert number would be:

something between 0.5 and 0.9

+

number of infections: 219,183

that gives us a covid alert level somewhere between

219,183.5 and 219,183.9

I thought it only went up to 5?

I think that the number of new infections is what the calculations use.
As in if day 1 you have 500 infections, and day 2 you have 450 new infections (total 950) you have a value of .9 because the value of new infections has dropped by 10%.
If on the other hand the new infections is 500 the value would be 1.
Gradually over a long period of time we would like the value to drop to zero new infections consecutively so the value would be zero.
That ideal situation is out of the question at the moment, so the "alert value" is realistically shown between .5 and .9 with .5 being great news, and .9 being oh shit.
