What's new

stay alert is it the new stay at home

And then Tory Central Office had to correct his statements. Yet more disjointed communication spreading confusion. They'd struggle to make a more ham-fisted job of this atm.

The procedure is simple: Brief presentation, Q&A session, online documentation, questions in parliament, then MPs tour news and radio studios. They skipped steps 2, 3, and 4...and refused to provide MPs to almost all breakfast shows.

Workers were told to go to work today without providing guidance to employers or saying what would happen to those who rely on public transport and childcare. Then they were told it's not till Wednesday. Families were told they could meet up. Then they were told they can't. It's an absolute fucking joke. Do these fuckers even talk to each other?

Not even worth replying to...........................................

A lot of the time her plans are announced before Boris

And your point is ?
My post was about the fact that Sturgeon a lot of the time seems to get wind of what Boris is very likely to say via earlier things in the media, or from other cabinet ministers, and then announces exactly the opposite some hours before the UK (the sovereign government) briefing is held. Whilst at the same time bleating about the PM not discussing matters with her.

So it seems it is so vague that they don’t even know what it means themselves. Fucking idiots. Can it get any worse?

Probably would be already if another government was in power.
Anyway, stop bleating about our government, the Scottish government is now leading you lot ahead with things. :18:

So you dont think her concern is more for peoples safety rather than johnson being pushed by his financial backers to get the economy going ?

I think that the number of new infections is what the calculations use.
As in if day 1 you have 500 infections, and day 2 you have 450 new infections (total 950) you have a value of .9 because the value of new infections has dropped by 10%.
If on the other hand the new infections is 500 the value would be 1.
Gradually over a long period of time we would like the value to drop to zero new infections consecutively so the value would be zero.
That ideal situation is out of the question at the moment, so the "alert value" is realistically shown between .5 and .9 with .5 being great news, and .9 being oh shit.
the number is how many 1 infected person infects.
when it was 3 each person infected was infecting 3 more on average and number of infected rose rapidly. So anything below 1 the number infected starts to drop.
0.9 would mean for every 100 infected they infect 90 people.

Okay, that is the "R" factor.
But, what I think @zouzounaki was alluding to in his post was the new Covid alert level that has been introduced.
Look at his graphic in post #107 :)

No I don't.
Despite what you think of Boris don't forget the government has also got to look after the UK's finances as well, it would be very easy to leave the country in lockdown for say 6 months, or 9 months, but what would be the state of the country by then ? no further infections of covid 19, but a few months later thousands of people dying from hunger, other health issues because the NHS has no funding at all from the government, anarchy, and lawlessness, because the country has no money left, don't ignore the fact that all of Europe still has new infections, but have released lockdown measures to stop their economies sinking further.
It is a very difficult to balance lockdown, against finance of the people, and their mental health, via the economy.

As to Sturgeon, my own opinion is that her motives at the moment are not so much health of Scotland's population, but more her own image, and political future.

Johnson is often a blustering comic fool but really Stay Alert is not that hard to understand. Would Stay Awake sound better, because there is and always has been enough people who walk and drive around, who seem to be totally unconscious of their surroundings. The only thing people appear interested in is their bloody phones.

Stay Alert ... well we will see but I'm hoping the infection rate does not start to climb again as it did before the lock down ...
