Hi,

I'm new to POTV and green to my new hobby of juice production.

With a little help from E Juice Me Up calculator I created a number of liquids yesterday. They are all 70vg/30pg at 6% nicotine to blast through my RBA Subtank Mini. The flavour concentrates were from Vapours-R-Us and all mixed at 20%; Bubblegum, Skittles, Custard, Passion fruit and Rhubarb. I've mixed a few flavours at 10% and added 10% Custard. The completed bottles were given a good shake and placed in the coolest spot of my airing cupboard.

What do I do now? I've got 80-100ml of purchased juice to keep me afloat for a week or so and I'd prefer not to buy any more if I can help it. More importantly... I want to taste my creations so I can get the next batch brewing!

In reading, there's much confusion of how long steeping should take. This also varies between concentrates. I'm lead to believe that Custards take the longest to infuse needing 4-6 weeks.

Has anyone got some advice on experience with flavours I've purchased from Vapours-R-Us? I'm hoping some of these could be ready much sooner!

There's lots of steeping advice on here involving radiators, whisks and drills. Does repeated agitation/aeration actually accelerate the steeping process? If it does I'm thinking a centrifugal device would be a necessary DIY project. If it doesn't I call off Hannibal, Face, Murdoch and Mr T and just wait... Impatiently!

Thanks for listening.

fruity flavours, so your skittles, passion fruit, rhubarb etc will be good after a few days, custards are ALOT better after 4-6 weeks in my opinion
I attach my bottles to a jigsaw for a few mins, gets about 5000 shakes that way lol, I keep it in a warm place to, makes it less viscous meaning it mixes better.

Let us know how they turn out!

Cheers

no no, no safety considered here lol, tie it to the blade and away we go :D
Found this on eBay for $188, with a bit of a clean and some gaffer tape......

From what I understand there is definite benefit in getting air into your juice to help the flavourings carry out whatever chemical reactions they go through in combining with the PG/VG. Some people use milk frothers or other agitating methods. I leave a space for air at the top of my diy juices and shake vigorously for half a minute or so. That gets lots of tiny bubbles in amongst the juice, then I stick it away. Every few days I'll squeeze the "used" air out and give it another shake. Time is the main thing though, if needed.

Thanks for the jigsaw tip, hope you weren't joking because I will be heading for the shed shortly after my second batch is mixed.

It's been 16 days since I wet my eliquid cherry. Results so far.....

I sampled the skittles, passion fruit and rhubarb after 7 days of steeping. All were pretty good with regards flavour accuracy and the 20% strength was sufficient but not overpowering. Really amazed how exact the skittles flavour/smell was - very addictive. All three are good but feel like they're missing something. They all lack depth of flavour and sophistication (get me!). I've tried them again day 14 and no difference. I'll keep shaking and sampling periodical over the next few weeks in anticipation. Meanwhile I've taken a 10ml specimen of each and added 2 drops of ethyl maltol. Do you know whether EM requires further steeping???

On the 14th day God created bubblegum and custard! Tried the naked custard firstly and was apprehensive after reading some shocking reviews on here, likening it to burning rubber. After 2 weeks of steeping it tastes pretty good - plain vanilla like custard. Bubblegum smelt the mutts-nuts but tastes surprisingly weak in comparison. Rhubarb & custard was great though I will be upping the custard slightly to 15% next time around. Skittles & custard - vapable (when times get hard). Bubblegum & custard - well, enough said.

For me the top dog of a fairly shabby pack was my passion fruit & custard. Mixed at 10/10% it is well balanced and flavoursome. Both flavours come through, PF on the inhale and C on the exhale, then there's a cereal juice like aftertaste. May not be everyone's bag but I'm a proud man... Mission accomplished!

I'm fairly pleased with my first mix. One's great, one will be great, three need a little tinkering and two are toilet fodder. Not bad statistics given the odds set by the Vapour-R-Us comments on POTV.

Next stop FlavourArt and Capella, so I can mix with you big boys!!!!!
