Steeping, Sweeteners and etc

I have made my first mix using blueberry and a little menthol, not sure of the numbers as I'm at work.... Anyway left it a few days a d it tastes ok but I feel the blueberry is very dull. Would adding sweeteners etc help. Can anyone advise on what other things I should be buying to help with mixing. I have the standard stuff like flavors, pg, vg and nic base but should I also be looking at sweetener etc?

I add sweetener sometimes. Not much though. Defo no more than 1%

I use ethyl maltol to bring out and help combine some flavours

Looks like I need to buy some more items then...was looking at ethyl maltol but should I get anything else? Also any tips on menthol, I used 15% flavor.... 10% blueberry and 5% menthol. Didn't taste to bad after 2 days of steeping. Any other tips or advise greatly received. I will try to not ask to many questions guys but its early days.
