Still craving Tobacco!!!!!!

Hi, I used to have the same problem and it was only when I decided enough is enough, after vaping/smoking for about a year on and off, trying to quit constantly, and went cold turkey for 3 days to get most of the rubbish out of my system, and then started vaping that it's worked for me. My husband smokes but I have not felt even the slightest temptation. I am so much happier and feel healthier already after only 4 weeks. But everyone is different, so you'll be ok, just take it easy on yourself.

First off - don't worry if you fall back to the odd stinky - it's not just the nicotine your body is addicted too. There are 4000+ chemicals in there for a reason!

Next - don't think a 5 minute vape is the same as a ciggy. Apprently it can take up to 1/2 hour to get the same amount of nicotine in your system via an ecig. Do you feel satisfied after a vape or do you still crave? Trust your body to tell you when you've had enough.

That said, if you start feeling light headed or sick but still craving definitely stop for an hour or so.

Personally I graze vape (is that a term) - I always have a device near me and have a couple of puffs every so often. I'm lucky that I can vape at my desk but I know that's not always an option.

Finally - tell us more about your set-up. Your nicotine is high for me but might be too low for you as others have said. But perhaps the brand of juice isn't doing it.

More likely its the device. What are you using? I have had some that just don't hit the spot. They give me the nic but not the satisfaction.
A friend of mine is living on a UV drip (his gut has been unplumbed for a while) - sounds grizly but I found it interesting that he can still eat and indeed does, but it goes in a bag. Apparently he would go stark raving if he didn't!

TLDR? - Find whats right for you and don't worry about duel-furling (having the odd ciggy).

Personally I gave up by accident - I bought a cigga-like because I like gadgets and found it intriguing.

Before long I realised that I hadn't bought any tobacco for 2 months.

After years of trying to stop smoking I gave up by accident! Take that Alan Car!

Gave up nearly 3 weeks ago on about 1-2ml 18mg per day now and don't miss the fags at all

My advice, based on personal experience - Just bite the bullet and make sure that you don't have any ciggies around to fall back on. Sounds a tad scary and drastic, but, honestly, just one day of 'forced to vape, no ciggies' will cure you once and for all. and even if that does fail, a corner shop is never that far away so it's no big deal. vape and vape and vape again, your body and head spins will soon tell you if you've overdosed on nicotine and after that one day of ciggie abstenance and over the top vaping, I bet you'll never need a ciggie again. I don't think it matters what flavours you vape, some like sweeties, some fruit, some menthol and some tobacco-ish, it's all juice that delivers the nicotine.

hi
first off well done.
dont beat yourself up it is hard at first sometimes excrutiatingly. when i was smoking i was going through a 50mg pack of amber leaf every 2-3 days and didnt really want to stop i loved the old stuff. but bought an e-cig from the market ( i had tried cigalikes before) and told the wife thats it for me (i was buying it cos we were on hols and wanted to have a smoke inside the pub and the rest of the family had 1). but from the first vape i thought maybe i could do this but think i was lucky as the first juice was wonderful tasting. i started on blueberry 32mg cut down to 24 after around 3-4 months then 18 then 11 back on 18 i am back d0wn to 11 again now. i remember the first 9 days were very very hard but i just sucked the life out of the e-cig. i now think of it as a hobby rather than a quitting tool and have learned to enjoy it. dont get me wrong i still have the odd flash when iforget that i dont smoke but soon realise.
have you tried the fruit flavours? i seem to think that people using the nic flavours go back to smoking more often? i maybe wrong just a hunch. try a different flavour and vendor/juice you will find one eventually that you love and hopefully wont look back.
keep up the good work its all worth it in the end and there is plenty of help and advice here on potv..

I guess I am a lucky one and never had cravings, only smoked when I fancied it and never had to but that aside....
maybe you need a higher nicotine content or just missing the smoke in your eyes :eeek: stick at it I am sure you will feel better for it in the long run, just hang in there & try some stronger liquid? But hey what do I know I am still a learner
Good Luck

Thanks for all the above replies everybody very helpful thank you. I'm using an svd, mvp and vamo5, with iclear 30 as a tank. Vaping all kinds of flavours mainly sweet, 24mg nic, about 3 ml per day. Just ordered some 36ml nic juices for if I get too desperate for a smoke. 8 days now off the tobacco smoking. Get very strong cravings, but as stated above, these pass after not too long. Thanks again all of you.

PS - that's some pretty good kit - maybe worth trying an aspire as I prefer that to the iclear which I found gave a lot of dry hits. But once again it's down to what suits you.
