Hi All
I have finally decided to take the plunge and try to mix my own juices , can anyone advise on what is needed to start and where to purchase from. I only use 100% pg as vg does not agree with me .Any advice is welcome.
cheers
Gordon

Something like this is an excellent starting place and will give you everything you need to get up and running :)

To get going you'll need the base ingredients (PG, Nicotine liquid, Flavour [note no VG required for your mix]), plus something to measure the quantities with, plus something to mix them in, plus bottles for when it's mixed. Nicotine-proof gloves are recommended too. For small quantities syringes are good, for larger amounts a mixing beaker is quicker.

Use an ejuice calculator to work out your ingredients' amounts. Basically you start with nicotine liquid which is stronger than your required final strength (54mg seems popular and not too toxic to work with), and use your other ingredients to dilute it down.

For example if you start off with 54mg (PG based) nicotine liquid and you want to make 30ml, all PG, with 20% flavour, and final nic strength of 24mg - you'd need...

Nic liquid 13.33 ml
PG 10.67 ml
Flavour 6.00 ml
VG 0 ml

I've just started mixing my own juice and I'd highly recommend doing it. I had been keeping empty bottles of liquid for some time, so I didn't need to buy any. I didn't read this forum first but wish I had of done. I bought 250ml of 54mg PG liquid from the UK (for around £40) but you can get 500ml of 75mg strength liquid from the US for about an extra £20. I know where I'll be ordering from next time! It's here if you're interested.

Apart from that, I bought a few syringes (1ml, 5ml and 10ml), a box of latex, surgical type gloves from Ebay and a few bottles of flavoring concentrate. You can look at reviews and recipes on this forum for something that takes your fancy.

The mixing calculator on this forum and linked at the top of the page is very good and gave me all the instructions I needed. I'd recommend playing around with it to get an idea of how it works and what quantities you'll need.

You will need some Nicotine free PG liquid to water down the strength of the other stuff and I would use that alone to test a recipe first as it's much cheaper. Once you get the recipe right, use the nicotine based stuff. I've wasted about 60ml of Nicotine based liquid by mixing stuff that I don't like!

As Doc-Gonzo says, practice with nicotine free as it's much cheaper to experiment that way!!!

About to try the same my ingredients arrived today,so will get busy at the weekend, good idea on trying nic free first, thanks Doc and Blossom for that tip and looked at calculator on here but also got the latest Vape app on android which also has a calc included if that's easier for you
