What is your sweet spot guys?

I only have Ni200 28 gauge available to me at the moment and i'm looking for some advise on a dual coil build.

I'm going to put it into my Streamcrame aromamzier so it should fit pretty much anything but I tried a few builds this morning and my ohm reader just said stupid low ohms like 0.03.

I checked steam engine and from the wraps I was doing it should have been alot higher.

can anyone help me out?

I'm going to have another try later would just like some suggestions.

thanks

Well I usually aim for above 0.1 and sweet spot I'd prefer around 0.15 if you're doing duals you're probably looking at over 14 wraps each coil. Have a look at danb's excellent post on wire selection for TC. NiFe 30 seems like a decent option for dual coils as it has higher resistance and can be run in nickel mode with a small amount of temperature offset. How many wraps were you using?

Almost gave up on TC with dual coils cause of the crazy number of wraps required until I came across NiFe30. It's sooooo much easier to build with.

That's what i've heard but payday is 9 days away and I got my new toy today!

I was going to get some titanium wire but might go with nife30.. just so damn impatient.

With the velocity style deck in the aromamizer you could do a single coil placed in the middle of the deck with wires in opposite side of posts. I plan to try this build later today and see how it fares with tc.

With the large number of wraps required with Ni200, it is very difficult to dual coil at a sensible resistance without getting touching wraps (you'd probably need upwards of 14 wraps each side). I've read that touching wraps on Ni200 can cause it to short between wraps, essentially skipping wraps and lowering the resistance, because you can't easily dry fire it to create an insulating oxide layer.

NiFe30 is the wire to go for if you want to use Ni mode on your mod.

I ordered it on the joint account card.

I'll let you know if I make it through the night.. :whipping:

Will be interested to here how this turns out m8. Can you also post a pic?

OK quick and sloppy build but worked ok. 12 wraps of stealthvape tempered ni200, 3mm ID worked to about 0.15ohm. Placed coil centrally and wrapped the legs around to the post holes. Wicking was a little awkward but essentially poked some cotton bacon down loosely, fluffed the tail and cut in half vertically to split the tail and put each half loosely over the Wells. Could probably finesse the wicking and get fluffy tails which just trail on the deck to improve things but didn't fancy any leaking. Seems to work ok but had to max out the dna 40 wattage wise and at 420f she vapes lovely. @longy01
