TCX expromizer wicking

For me the TCX is the best Mesh Tank out there and never had any problems with my 3. The o-rings can be a bitch because they need wetting a few times otherwise everything is super hard to move. The Steel ropes wick beautifully so if your getting dry hits i would search elsewhere, i have also used different mesh and cotton and all work fine. I cut my cotton so it just sits softly on top of the steel ropes and make sure you rake it well and it should be fine.

Thanks @LordOdin for the message

Thanks to everyone who has helped today :) I have soaked the steel wicks in vodka for 4 hours. Took them out and gave them a gentle scrub with a toothbrush. Put them in a boiling pan of water for 10 mins and dried off. All the while using tweezers and kitchen roll to handle them. I can report that they are definitely wicking better and the cotton is now soaking well. I did get some harshness after a while with the supplied coil and noticed some browning on the cotton. I have since replaced it with one of my usual wotofo clapton coils and I hope this helps.

Cheers

Just a wee update, did a rebuild on it today and put a Vapefly ni80 0.20 Ohm mesh strip in it and my now usual Firebolt cotton and the improvement is to me very noticeable over the nondescript mesh that they come with.

The silicon fill thing split today so I binned it, don't think it will leak without it as the tolerances are so tight but a bit pissed off that they don't include at least one spare.

My silcon bung is also splitting but just about holding in there. I wish they would make them out of better material.

Nice will need to try the ni80 @archiecat

I've been using the wotofo nexmesh Clapton S on cotton bacon prime and it has been solid all day at 43w. I'm so glad for everyones advice it really is wicking well. I still think the Profile M has betterr flavour but it could be the TCX needs breaking in a bit. I do love the smooth draw of this tank though :)

That's good to read, not the bung bit the other bit :)

Only been using mesh for a threeish months so still very much a learner but totally sold on it, just love the instant and consistent draw it gives.

I'll look into the wotofo nexmesh Clapton S sounds interesting I've only used Kanthal 0.20ohm up to now.

I must be lucky as all my bungs seem ok, i have never filled mine without the top attached but assume your not doing it the same way, the top keeps the bung in position and tight. I have had an o-ring split on me last night on my oldest TCX which has endured heavy use since i bought it. Been giving the Siegfried some hammer lately as well, they are both pretty good Mesh Tanks.

I know you can buy spares from their shop but ships from Germany I think. Shipping will be expensive for a 50p bung though. Mine now has a small hole in it lol

I opened my mouth too quick, the Bung in my Gun Metal TCX has just vanished lol. I have filled it since and it hasn't leaked so at least i can still use it.

Mine doesn't leak without it just have to be a bit carefull when filling, I do quite like it and at £20 it's a good buy but have to admit that I prefer The Siegfried for my low wattage vaping, though not sure I would recommend it for high wattage vapers, the Kylin M pro I've only had for a few days and am very impressed with everything about it.
It's all good fun though init.

I do like the Siegfried and loving that as well, i might get a Kylin M Pro if i see one cheap enough. Just bought a Odin DNA from the Classifieds so not in a big rush for one. The TCX is ok if you fill up just below the fill port. I have no idea where my bung went, i should of known that saying my Bungs were ok would be the kiss of death lol.
