Hi everyone, sacred back again haha

I am researching an article about the history of vaping and i was hoping to get some help, to make sure it is accurate enough. I am writing one that is meant to document from the start of vaping as a real industry, companies, products, technology etc up until this point.

So i would love to have your input! What are your memories of vaping? What was the big products when you started, what was your first vaping device? What booms do you remember over the past few years, where must have devices were in fashion?

Just anything really, it will be a massive help for me and it will help shape my article into one that is much more vaper related than a generic write up.

Cheers guys!

My first experience of getting - no, trying to get - a nic fix by sucking on something other than burning shrubbery was something called an "Inhalator" made by Nicorette. Basically a plastic tube with a flattened mouthpiece like a short fat cigarette holder. Had a little sponge in the middle, the sponge soaked in an almost flavourless liquid alleged to contain nicotine. No way to heat it up, you just suck on it and supposedly get fumes off the sponge. Entirely disposable and thus expensive. Did absolutely nothing for me, as in did not reduce my cigarette consumption at all.

I'd split it into sections and focus on iconic models in each category.

Some older vapers should be able to help pre-2013, but since then the highlights for me would be:

Svoemesto in a category of their own.

Clearos:
Kanger, from the original Protank through to the Subtank, which brought sub-ohming to the masses.
Aspire Nautilus.

RTAs:
Kayfun series
Squape
Taifun
Rose
Steamcrave Aromamazer series

RDAs:
Kennedy
Goon

VW mods:
Hana
Yihi SX Mini series
Lost Vape DNA series
Eleaf iStick

Mechs:
Stingray
Nemesis

I haven't highlighted many Chinese products as these have no longevity. They are too quick to drop a successful product and move on to the next thing, examples being Geekvape with the Griffin, which I still rate as the best sub-ohm RTA ever made, and Aspire with the Nautilus, which, although they've kept the name has changed into something that doesn't resemble the original in any way.

Meanwhile I'm just here waiting for a proper documentary about vaping, would be cool to have a Horizon quality one, history and current day included.

How about an innovation timeline with a little piece on each "new wave"?

Gum
Patches
Inhalators
Cigalikes/Cart-Os
Mod+tank
Wicking materials - nylon, cotton, mesh, flax, paper...
MTL - DTL
Unregulated - Regulated mods
Rebuildables
Coil types, different metals
Temperature control
Squonking
Mesh "coils"
That weird Revvo thing
Them there new fangled ultrasonic gizmos that I know nuffink about
The introduction of the TPD regulations and their effects on manufacture of devices and liquids and on the DIY market

Blimey - if space travel had moved on this fast we'd be halfway to Andromeda by now. :D

I have already written a what is vaping article before today with a hell of a lot of detail haha

Trying to go for a more linear little tale to say in this year sub ohm was born, then this happened. but more in a article form than a ramble haha

Vaping hit the uk in 2007 but didnt really start becoming mainstream until 2010/2011.
