The Mesh Company: So many choices, what do you recommend for use in a cobra?

So cobras have been out for a long time now so I'm hoping someone has perfected building wicks for them and can give me their knowledge.

I've tried a bunch of different meshes (they're all jumbled up in my box so it's a lucky dip at this stage) but now I'm thinking of trying some of the newer ones and I'll make sure to label them properly.

I'm seeing the have both 400 and 500 thread counts on their website in a few different variants.

So in a4 size they look to have these three:

  1. Super Fine #400 E-Cig Stainless Steel Mesh - 0.03mm (30 Micron) - A4 Sheet - Bargain Alternative
  2. Super Fine #400 E-Cig Stainless Steel Mesh - 25 Micron - A4 Sheet Ref: WSS400SF-A4
  3. Super Fine #500 E-Cig Stainless Steel Mesh - 25 Micron - 200mm x 300mm Sheet

Which would anyone advise?

Then I also see they have #200 and #325 . Is it worth picking these up?

I'm also going to pick up some .25 kanthal. I already own some .2 and .16 and the resistance isn't low enough. With .2, I get around 1.8 ohms on my current wicks and I want to try some lower resistances. I see they call it A1 and then I currently have some .2 D. Can anyone explain what the A1 and D mean?

Many thanks.

I dont reccomend any mesh from the mesh company lol

Stealthvapes marine grade has been the best mesh ive used by far.

This stuff:

What thread count would you recommend. It's quite a bit more expensive than the mesh company's seeing as you only get an a5 piece. Is it really that much better?

I see they have Niobium Alloy Resistance Wire listed too. Is that any good? Should I try the .25? What about the titanium?

Yes it really is that much :) and there is a reason for it, it's far better than the industrial grade stuff and requires a lot less faffing about then.

I am inclined to agree with all above,
I have used from both the mesh company (better value in terms of size) and also from Stealthvape, The latter wins hands down.
So it is quality over quantity and I favour quality any day of the week.

It is always good practice to get a few samples of each size, really it depends what u vape (juices) how you vape and in what!!

As a rule of thumb VG being thicker I personally prefer a slightly hollow SS/wick (straw-like) of #200 grade, but with most every other form of liquids use #400 or #500 rolled more solid/tighter. Generally #500 ;)

I too have used both and fine the stuff stealthvape has is so much cleaner and lasts forever. I had to replace my wick regularly with the mesh company stuff cos it just tasted nasty and did bad things to the juice. I'm still on my first wick from the last lot I got from stealth and I can't even remember when I put it in. On paper it may seem more expencive but in reality it is a much better investment :)

Im still using the mesh from Stealth in my Aga, that I got back in Feb :) deffo lasts for ages!

You're all convincing me so. I forgot to mention, I do vape my own DIY 100%VG apart from what's in the flavouring which I'm unsure about. I had to stop vaping PG because I was getting rashes, flaky skin, dandruff etc. One I stopped using PG, it went away.

So they don't have a 200 count. Nearest is 300, will that do for the VG?

Thanks a lot.
