Hi all the Daily mirror have been scare mongering again and twisting the finding of a study published in The New England Journal of Medicine. They claimed in the headline "E-cigarette flavorings damage the lungs - cinnamon vape juice found to be the most toxic" they went on to say in a linked article titled "E-cigarette health scare erupts as officials highlight "serious" cancer risk of vaping" "This warning came after other researchers claimed the vapour from e-cigs was packed full of formaldehyde, which is know to cause lethal cancer." They show a tweet from the The New England Journal of Medicine which reads "Chemical analysis of e-cigs' vapor show high levels of formaldehyde. Authors project higher cancer risk than smoking."

All pretty frightening stuff until you go to the reports letter and graph which shows huge amount of Formaldehyde when liquid is vaped at 30 volts and little and none when vaped at low volt. Its a bit confusing because it only talks about volts and no Watts but I think we know what they are talking about, burning the liquid and not burning the liquid.

Here is the journals report letter and graph.

Sadly, the only section of the "public" that help to spread all of this scare monger garbage are we vapers ourselves. Nobody else is interested and nobody else would be bothered to link such garbage to vaping related web sites. On the one hand it's of interest to read the rubbish, but on the other hand we help to distribute it.
I don't know the answer but I do know that the instigators of vaping scare mongery could have no better distribution media than vaping related media.

For that reason, I no longer visit any links that lead towards any anti vaping hysteria articles, as I'm too old and too wise, to be used as a tool to add to the hit counts.
