They did another test here in the states. They went to reputable vape shops and bought liquids. And tested all of those for the chemicals that injured these people, and for any harmful chemicals. None were found.

Then they bought 15 off the street and from local little guy owned stores. 13 of those 15 popped positive for numerous chemicals that can kill you.

The whole farce shows that the US has no way to control vaping, as is the case in Europe, because they have no proper regulations like the TPD. There will always be isolated incidents of drugs being used in vapes, it's happened here. But compliance between juice makers & FDA could & would keep these incidents to a minimum.

(Hospitals)
to gather information about cases - yet they do not advise taking a urine sample
A urine sample which can test for THC in the system weeks ago to assist in clarification of cases....

What most of this crap often comes back to in many cases.....

Juul products, that got young people addicted to nicotine
with very very high smooth concentrate of nic salts & fruit flavourings
who then went onto to purchase Juul pods with THC & other substances outside the regular vaping community

These empty pods are peanuts to purchase from China, but even sold in Vape stores in both US & UK

Which are filled by people (I use the term loosely), that have no morals/integrity
& fill them with a much more lethal chemical not designed to be delivered by vaping
but under the tongue say to be absorbed into bloodstream etc......

Which makes for a very profitable, highly addictive, repeat business to naive youngsters

But let's ignore all this - call out vaping as the scourge with flavourings as the poison by MSM

The fruit flavourings weren't needed to "get the young". They were honestly incidental and have become a scapegoat.

It was the blatant advertising from, specifically, Juul. Of course this was absolutely denied by the (ex) CEO.

When I first heard about the targeting kids thing, being accustomed to the advertising rules here, I was honestly thinking it was a load of tosh.

But over the last couple of weeks I've seen the Juul ads...

They could've been catshit flavour and kids would still have wanted them.

That's what makes nicotine into salts.

Freebase nic is quite alkaline, so you add an acid to bring it closer to neutral.

There are a couple of options as to which acid to use.

If it's actually true that they include oils, then there may very well be some modicum of truth behind issues caused by vaping 'official' products.

I fought against the TPD regs. Yes they are a real pain in the arse, and they could be a *lot* more sensible... but they do feel like a line of defense in situations like these.

I get so angry at the press for sensationalising total fucking tragedy and spinning it into fear-mongering click bait that will ultimately be responsible for many times more death as a result of of inappropriate legislation and because so many smokers are discouraged from trying an effective alternative.
