(This is it) TPD Regulations 2016

what can I say???

Holy shit!!

While I was wandering around town today I decided to go to our 2 local vaping outlets to ask if and how they are promoting awareness of the looming regulations, how this might impact customers choices and what they (their customers) could try to prevent this happening.
The local shop staff (a branch of vape) were great! They wanted me to let them know what (if any) reply I got from our local MP so they could follow it up and tweak their approach as needed.

Then I went to a VIP stall. I repeat....... Holy shit!!
I was told their products contain no tobacco and so are unaffected by the Tobacco Product Directive (whatever that is)
none of their products will be at risk from it (at which I walked around the stall anf highlighted all the products that would be)
I was then asked, if I wasn't buying anything, to go away.

We worry about the lack of awareness from other vapers. No wonder they're unaware when idiots like that are their primary source of information.

PS thanks Lord Callanan!

PS lidl's finest decaf kept me calm enough not to use the words arsehat and cockwomble in my reply.

If Lord Callanan's motion is succesful, you'll be able to send a further reply and justifiably use those terms

TPD is alive. Feeling the burn yet? The no discounts thing has kicked in..

oh well, here it is in all its shitteyness http://www.vapingpost.com/2016/05/2...s-and-their-potential-risks-to-public-health/

now all we can do is hope the Lords can kick some government booty.

Briefly scanned that link (as that's all it deserves) and 2 immediate questions:

"The Commission poses the amount of e-liquid needed to produce an acutely toxic effect through dermal exposure in humans is 35 ml for a small child and 210 ml for a 60kg adult (larger than the maximum size of a refill container allowed under the TPD)."

35ml/210ml of what nicotine strength?? that'd make a big difference

"277 cases of nicotine poisoning were identified being reported to poison centres in eight EU Member States (Austria, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and Slovenia) from January 2012 to March 2015:
  • 33.2% of cases related to children aged five or under"
That's 92 poisonings! I wonder how the media missed such an epidemic? doesn't sound right somehow
