Silica shouldn't catch fire when you dry burn it, cotton wool will though.
Yup,less metal to heat = faster heating times.Ok, so got some more wick and wire through today, and after another unsuccessful attempt at a traditional coil, decided to try a microcoil. This works, but takes a long old time to heat up. It also came out at quite a high ohm level - 2.4. I'm guessing I reduce this by a couple of wraps less next time. Would this also speed up the heating time?
