USB plug charging

I’ve brought an ARTERY PAL PRO 2 from a shop today and when being set up and told about it was told not to charge it using a plug socket or phone charger. I’ve read the manual it dosnt mention anything about it. Can anyone explain the reason I’ve been told this, also is there a product out there I can plug into a socket that I can charge my vape safely from

I was told to charge from a computer, console or car usb socket not directly from a wall plug

Maybe they meant not to plug the other end into a high power (2.1 or higher) plug. Not sure on the charging spec of that mod but can imagine a slower charge would be safer and better.

I do recall hearing something about certain voltage. Is there products available to charge at slower rates that plug into a socket? As I’m worried about plugging into a usb plug but don’t want to be stuck using a portable power bank to charge my vape.

it has a built in battery so how the fuck do you charge it like @rew said

Think it is a classic case of "some" shops/assistants not knowing their arse from elbow etc...

Yes with mods taking replaceable 18650's etc... the general advice is to charge them externally
Though most respected modern mods allow you charge them via usb at times
(hence they provide a usb port to charge them with)
Though most still charge 18650's externally....

Charging a single 18650 in situ in a modern trusted mod is OK where necessary if needed
it is when you charge a dual 18650's in a lesser known mod it becomes a little risky
as with dual battery mods, they do not balance the batteries like a quality charger can

So the general advice is for mods with replacement/external batteries - should be charged separately

The device in question has an internal cell, so me thinks the person was unaware where their elbow/arse was located

I’ve found a product from totally wicked, a 1.0A usb wall plug adapter would this be a safe option rather than an old iPhone usb plug ?

The PAL 2 and PAL 2 PRO both charge at a max of 800mA.

The mod will only draw 800mA, even if you use a 1 amp charging plug, so I'm pretty sure the same would be true for a 2.1 amp charging plug.

Good to know and we'll done for sharing the info.
For safety reasons I would still only charge it using a 1A USB charger. Always best to air on the side of caution.
