Hi chaps

Puffing away this morning on the Vamo with a Vivi attached and it suddenly went dead on me. So I changed my Vivi over and it worked fine. I re-attached the first one and nothing. It's dead.

So now i've got a Vivi that don't work. Any ideas what the problem is?

Duff coil? Were you using the correct voltage and wattage for the coil? May have gone pop if it got too hot.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. IIRC it was set at something like 4.2v which i've had it on for ages. I've also used it up to 5.5v without a problem and TBH I didn't even know that this could happen! I'm scared to press the button now.......:stinker:

You've blown the coil. It happens, eventually, like a lightbulb, they wear out sooner or later.

you can get a replacement head for it, lots of vendors sell them and they cost about £2 a time. Or you can get some silica wick and resistance wire and rebuild it yourself check out PBusardos Vivi nova rebuild video on youtube for easy to follow instructions for that.

you can buy some wick and some wire for not much more than the price of a couple of replacement heads, many vendors stock those as well, and you'll be able to rebuild 10+ heads with it.

ETA: a coil will last on average about 2 weeks of vaping. Some coils last a couple of days, some coils will last a couple of months, you should get 2 weeks or so on average per coil though.

Thanks for that, I never knew they were so, erm, hit and miss with regard shelf life so to speak.

Funnily enough, I just screwed the Vivi back in and it's working again. VERY weird.

Yeah. that's why no vendor offers warranty of atomiser heads other than DOA (Dead on Arrival) returns. you can literally fire one up and see it working, fire it a 2nd time and *poof* dead coil, it's rare but it does happen. They are dirt cheap to replace and even cheaper if you make your own, which is really easy.

Oh, joy abounds on Planet Mawsley!

Tried cleaning my Viv Novas a couple of times when I first got them and still had horrible tastes when vaping. The other day, when cleaning out old juice pots, I dismantled them and lobbed all the components into a sink of hottish water. Then, figuring I may get around to practising coiling on them, just left them out to dry with everything else.

Today I rebuilt one. Three times I dropped one drop directly onto the coil and allowed it to soak in. Then I dripped the custard juice down the wick before filling up the tank. Popped the Zmax onto 6W even though the coil rates at 3.5ohm...and vape without nastiness. I've just clicked it up to 6.5W and the taste is wonderful, far better than on the AgaT2.

I'm left wondering now whether to try silica wick in the T2?

Heaven. Except I only have 3ml of custard left, I can see a rush over to Wellingborough for some more pre-steeped stuff tomorrow!

That's a plan then.

Not keen on the idea mesh considering the SS tip on my Nova makes it taste of metal still and I'm finding the flavours with the rod wick just too muted compared to an Evod.

I have noticed as well on some Vivi's that the contact post can depress to the point it no longer makes contact with the battery connection, get a set of needle nose pliers or tweezers and pull it out a few mm before screwing the vivi back down to see if that is your problem, this shouldnt happen on the vivi's that have spring loaded centre pins but it is something else to try before recoiling (which is easy enough to do anyway and I found vapour and flavour on mine improved)
