Vape juice turning brown?

I have juice that has gone brown in the bottle so it's not always a gunky coil, put it down to chemical reactions like others have said

That’s usually nicotine oxidising. If you have a stash of nic for mixing, it starts out clear, then over time (and the more air is in the bottle) it goes slightly orangey-yellow, then more brown as it ages.

I dont see nothing bad with the coil or its color. Its just starting to show normal usage wear out.
Even with no nic it happens.

That's the nicotine oxidising and changing colour, it's quite normal.

Was a no nicotine 20mg/ml CBD DIY mix, why I found it so odd, but yeah often the nic. :)

I see that makes sense. Here’s another pic doesn’t look too good to me but I need to know these things to prevent me wasting money if I don’t need to

Can't always go by look but its usually much darker/ black around the coil when a coil is dead. Better way to know is you'll usually get a noticeable flavour drop then a little while later reduced vapour production, burnt taste, the odd dry hit and the tank may gurgle/leak a little.

As @Leni first said, it's sweetener in the juice. It happens to one of mine. Nothing to worry about if it still tastes ok.

I'm on zero nic with the juice so definitely not nicotine.

Trust me, this is not bad. Seen some nasty crappy coils just covered in what could only be described as black tar, and people kept using it [emoji23] it's unavoidable. Any sweeteners and colouring can result in gunk, as well as to high/low power. With too high power you're burning the wicks, since it doesn't have enough wicking capacity. With too low power, you're pretty much cooking the liquid instead of vaporising, and any sweetener and/or colouring caramelises on the coil. As I say, it's unavoidable. As long as it tastes good and don't look disgusting it's pretty safe.

Cheers for the info man, why has it started to taste weird then? It’s not a burnt taste, just a strange taste now and not the most pleasant, especially the after taste. I’ve only had 250 puffs on this coil. It seems to be happening on all of them around the 300 hundred mark. It’s a falcon 2 sector mesh

Yeahhh... no, at this point when it tastes like burnt rag, it's time to replace. If they all do it around the same time, means it's just the nature of the coils. You tried different ones? I know there is one that lasts longer than others, but which one? Not a clue. Ask around, you'll definitely find someone on the forum that can help.

250 puffs from 1 coil i wouldn't call that bad, i know it doesn't sound a lot when you say it quick but that to me is a fair amount of vaping, i reckon when i first started vaping i wasn't getting half as many puffs before the coil went tits up on me. I don't even know what the average amount of puffs is on a stock coil but i would have thought 250-300 is quite a lot.

You reckon that’s gunked? I had a guy wander into our unit a couple of weeks back saying “mate, do you reckon you can have a look at my vape? It’s been starting to taste a bit burnt”

Sure, no problems let’s have a look.

Photos do this no justice, the crud on there is atleast 5mm on top of the coil.

He’d been rewicking but not dry burning it before hand.... for about 6 months.

Only just started to “loose the flavour a bit” mind.

I get that we are all new at some point but fuck me, he must have realised long before that it was tasting odd [emoji23][emoji23]

Edit - I did of course wrap him a new coil and rebuild it for him :)
