Vapers Tongue, Numb Lips, Numb Cheek, Numb Jaw.. HELP!

Hi all,

I started vaping back in Sept 2013, very occasionally as I was trying to quit the analogs however it didnt quiet work until, I decided enough was enough and quit smoking 7 days ago. So as you guessed im vaping alot more to keep the cravings at bay. But I'm experiencing some unusual "side effects"...

I was ok for the first 2/3 days, vaping from a 50/50 VG/PG mix, however on the weekend i switched to 20/80 VG/PG mix, over the course of the weekend, i noticed my tongue and lips starting to tingle but didnt think much of it. Come Monday evening, the right side of my tongue was numb, the right side of my top and bottom lips, my right cheek and my right side of my jaw were all numb! Yes, I vape from the right side of my mouth. On Tues I decided to call NHS direct and explained my symptoms but they werent much help. So I went online and did some research and found some people can have allergic reactions to PG... I didnt Vape on Tues evening and vaped this morning with the 80/20 juice to see if that would aggrivate the numbness and it did exactly that. i switched back to the 50/50 juice and although the numbness is still there it didnt make it any worse.

Ive ordered some 100% VG juice to see if this will make any difference. But in the meantime, I was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar?

My guess is some sort of allergic reaction, maybe even require a visit to the dentist, but first stop will be the GP tomorrow evening.

It looks normal, i mean i havent analysed my tongue too much over the years but it looks pretty normal, no sign of blisters, odd colouring etc. is there anything in particular i should be looking out for?

I had a period of adjusting in the beginning. I used to get a sore mouth (felt like I had mouth ulcers) but it cleared up after a few weeks. I always bought 70/30 PG/VG ratio.

I've been mixing my own juice for about 6 months now abd always mix at a 50/50 ratio. What I've found now tho is if I treat myself to some shop bought 70/30 juice and vape it all day, it irritates my mouth and gives me a sore throat.

clint yeah i can appreciate there is a window of transition, the vapers tongue i can deal with but its the numbness that is causing me the concern.

I'm checking your facial muscles. I want you to raise your eyebrows and if they are ok, blow out your cheeks with your mouth closed. Let me know how that goes....and if there is anything unusual
