What's new

WANTED: People for testing our new device

I was planning on going back to the .7 coils when this issue is sorted. But I'm liking the .4 coils so much now I've decided to stick with them. I am now using 70pg 30vg 35mg nic salt. The coils are lasting me around 10 days of heavy use. Not had any problems with them at all.

But...

As I also had issues with the .7 coils during testing I'll order a pack today to see how they work for me now the batches are further along and report back.

Edit: Ordered a pack. Do find it odd most people have no problems yet another can have issues with every coil. When the new coils arrive I'll take a .4 and a .7 coil apart and see if I can see a difference in how they're coiled.

I'll fire it all in the post to you tomorrow mate. I work in Edinburgh so it'll probably get to your office on Friday, can wait till you get back till you look at it though.. What coils do you want me to send? All of them? Just the ones I've used? If you pm me the address I'll get it packed up when I'm in from the pub tonight.

I can get CS to send you a freepost label if you want? If you send the coils you've had issues with, if possible keep each batch separate

Will do mate. A label would be good, got stuff to send for a giveaway tomorrow so already paying the post office.

Sure as hell can't complain about the speed of delivery. Ordered coils yesterday and they arrived this morning.

Sorry to have to report back that the issues are still there. First coil behaved exactly the same as those I originally tested. Worked perfectly for several hours yesterday. Got up this morning and was still OK (a little tighter than yesterday - which is to be expected) for the first hour or so then got tighter and tighter. Put a pin down the center and cleared a hole but the very first drag blocks it again. Because cotton blocks the center airflow hole, it causes juice to sit in the hole which, along with the extra force needed when taking a drag, causes a mouthful of juice. I really don't get it. The .4 coils work flawlessly and are just as tiny and fiddly to make.

Pictures of how the coil should look and how it does look....

The 0.4 is made on a different line from the 0.7, so the 0.4 could just be a better line, I'll check with manufacturing. What's weird is we are getting only a few reports in CS and the coils I have are working fine, I'll get another few packs randomly pulled from the shipment and see if I can find one, also glitchs coils should be coming back to me. since the new batch started we've had less than 10 say they had issues, and I know we've sold close to 10K of them. However if the issue was that few, you'd be very unlucky to get 2 lots with the same issue. If you could try the others and report back that would be good, if they all underperform we can swap for the 0.42.

Just got home and switched the coil out. Will report back.

Yeah, it is odd that both Gitchy and I would be so unlucky in such a wide sample of coils.

Here is another photo of the coil I've been using. I've just cleaned it whilst installing the second coil.

I just had a thought as I examined this latest coil.

The .4 coil is made from two wires. A long single wire with a second wire attached to the middle section. The .7 coil is just a single wire from start to finish. Maybe the extra strand of wire in the .4 coils is what's helping keep the cotton in place better as it gives a wider surface area to the wire and provides more of a barrier to prevent the cotton from being able to pass thru the individual wraps. :hmm:

Yep I'll post them Monday mate. Been a little out of action the last couple of days. Mine seemed more like they were flooding but you can see for yourself when you get them.
