Well the first meet is over, so how did it go
First off we didnt know where to start as this is a huge learning curve, so first things first was to open all the concentrates and have a smell seemed like a good starting point.
So heres what we have to choose from (with a few new additions from the fellow member)
Liberty Flights
french vanilla deluxe
pear
maple
english toffee
Cupcake world
rum
grape
brandy
blackcurrent
cherry
Flavour West
Lemonade
LorAnn Oils
mint choc chip
chocolate
Blueberry
cola
peach
tutti-fruity
Inawera
RY4
First order of the day was to see what the "cream mi berries" was like after a two day steep. Let me just say cream as that was all ya got although not bad doesnt really go with the name.
So that aside it was mixing time as you can see with a big list a starting point may have been a issue, what to mix hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm well that was the toughy and after much looking we got down to buisness on "Pearolate"
For this one it was just two flavours as a new venture we didnt want to mix things up too much.
Chocolate and pear.
So we set about it adding 8% (liberty flights) pear and 5% (LorAnn)choc to our 18mg base 70/30 mix
Had a quick test and found that the pear was way overbearing, so added more choc, still same so added a nice bit of choc making a 15% choc 8% pear...............nice wonder what it will be like after a steep. Think the main issue and why it ended up as 15% choc is that the pear was still over powering. If I make this up again which if it is as nice as the intial test I will maybe a 3% pear to 10% choc maybe the answer.
So with that one approved by us both we moved on just plain flavours next just as trials to see what works
Toffee 70/30 18mg again mixed a bit weak to begin with using you guessed it english toffee (LF) final mix was 22%
We also had a tinker with the blueberry in "cream mi berries"
Total approved mix was 3.5% blueberry (LA) and 1% vanilla(LF) in the 70/30 18mg and it was goood
Also mixed up some RY4 but for the life of me dont know to what %
Well next step is to see what happens when they steep, oh and also to get a dripper so I am not having to clean out the cleros to test (I normally use cartos but figured for testing the cleros would be better/easier to clean out of what was to hand anyway).
So that concludes all I have to say on the first mixing session other than to say I loved it and was good fun..................
