Ben Goldacre is someone Ive always looked up to for exposing big pharma and big tobaccos dodgy dealings

hell .. Ive even got his autograph on Bad Science after going to see one of his live talks.


I think he see's Big Tobacco behind it ... maybe he should talk to some of us small vendors, who have absolutely nothing to do with Big Tobacco or big pharma and people who have been years + without cigarettes due to this largely User inspired and fuelled community.

Really genuinely gutted

I have considered attempting to contact him for his thoughts in the past on Big Pharmas clear involvement in trying to get rid of Ecigs - guess thats off the cards.

Maybe he is just the media whore some of my friends keep telling me he is. Or maybe Big Pharma finally got to him with money

He just posted this up out of the blue. proceeded to call advocates vile and insinuated there is tobacco industry involvement.

Disappointing to see this from the usually rational Dr Goldacre. The report clearly states that evidence is lacking, so to assert that e-cigs don't help smokers quit is a totally unsupported claim. It looks like someone has been rude to him so he's decided to abandon his principles in the interest of getting even. Perhaps he's drunk.
