What next for kit?

Yep, I like the suggestion of single coil RDA for my new Frankenvape laboratory ;) Bwahahah! Got 3 main tanks so going to keep one for menthols/mints, one for creamy/desserts, and one for fruits. Anyone invented a cheeseburger flavour juice yet?

Have you looked into the freemax mesh pro? I haven't built a coil in probably12 months. I've been vaping for years and I'm finally in the position that I'm only spending money on juice and coils for the freemax mesh pro. Sure, it's nice having the latest bit of kit and rebuilding but IMO, the flavour from the freemax is right up there.

Ops looking for flavour not clouds being more MTL-restricted DTL vaper. Not faulting your recommendation but it's a big step up from Nautilus style tanks to the Freemax.

I have a couple of Innokin T22s, an Eleaf iStick RIM and an Innokin Coolfire IV. These are fine and satisfactory, but I'm always after progression. Is there an obvious next step? Am I missing out on anything, or am I just being greedy? Not really interested in cloud chasing, so have I reached a natural limit with what I've got? I know this is a bit of an open-ended question ...
I really think the iStick RIM is superb so you're onto a good start.

Have you considered pod style kits? for MTL this is my favourite way, especially for Nic Salts, Take a look at the Artery Pal II reviews.

Rebuildable MTL wise my favourite is the mini squonker Vandy Vape Simple EX, superb and simple to build on RDA and cheap to run with airflow options to suit any MTL user.
I reviewed it a while ago, I rarely leave the house without either the Artery Pal II or the Simple EX

I don't think there is an obvious step, I'm over 3 years in now and the last few weeks I've been vaping on nothing but a $20 Smoant Pasito with stock coils and enjoying it just as much as anything else I have.

You aren't missing out on anything really, there's probably something out there that you would really like and enjoy more than you have, but it's not going to be obvious what that is until you try it. There is no 'best' and spending more money doesn't mean you'll like it more. Just treat yourself now and again to something that takes your fancy and you'll either like it or you won't.

I think the advice above from @nwhornet and @Simon G is spot on! I like nicely made things and so I have what I consider to be something special but I equally love my little picos with a clone rta on the top that is a fraction of the price. I also like a couple of small pod style AIO’s that were cheap as chips.

As said if you want a new mod then go for something you like the look of as it will pretty much do the same as anything else. If aesthetics are important then go for that.

I think, but could be corrected, that the gap between RTA and RDA is quite negligible these days flavourwise. For testing your flavours I guess the rta would be far less hassle as you can change out much more easily.

Stock coils for mtl are ok from what I’ve tried. They do the job and some give a decent flavour. Rebuildables I find far superior as, was also mentioned, you can tweak them a lot more. I find they also cope with more types and flavours of juice than stock coils do.

There is a mass of info in the mtl section for all things mod and rta/rda and plenty of pics to give you some ideas on what things look like.

There will always be the next best thing and there will always be something that is claimed to be amazing. I’ve loved some and just not got on with others. Clones are a good start as they are cheap and let you try things more easily and if you really like something it’s perhaps worth getting an original of that clone to support the makers at a later date.

Get a few different wires to try like a 27-28 kanthal, some ni80 wire and perhaps some mtl Clapton wire and have a play. Get some muji and maybe a cotton bacon or cotton gods and play with the cottons too.

It’s all very silly really but fun if you want it to be.

Thanks all. I tried a friend's Smok and the flavour knocked my socks off, so I've got a Smok Species coming. My first foray into a kit with rechargeable batteries. I'm liking the Rodeo shortfills with added nic shots - the Donuts one is very sweet but lovely. I've also got a Joyetech AIO pen coming for CBD oil, and a cheap eGo EVOD pen for the testing clearomisers.
