What's new

What wire and gauge?

Getting on well with the flat Ni80 in the RDTL and even the RDA heats up quick and doesnt need much wattage. Got some 28awg HW6015, Ni200 30awg and fused Clapton 24awg Ni80/32awg A1. Very cheap on sale, wanted some 316 but they only had 316L

I'm very boring with wire, 28g or 26g usual about 1.0ohm or 0.7ohm for pretty much everything.

Flatwire really comes into its` own when you want to run a dual coil atty on a single cell mod.

what was your objection about the “L”, just out of interest?

Funnily enough, I just picked up 200m of SS316L 28awg for £18.45 delivered.

200m, lordy, hope you like it.

Funnily enough I bought a 200m spool of 24ga Kanthal cheap when Crazywire were having a clear out a few years ago, I took the plastic wrapper of and dropped it. It rolled across the floor making a hissing sound as it promptly unwrapped itself. I scooped it up and put it in a carrier bag - I just select a loop and cut out an appropriate length as I can't be arsed to attempt to rewind it - it won't be fun..

That's what beadalons are for. Stops you making an ass of yourself.

I thought they had different TCR values for temp control but they dont really, just looked again they virtually the same‍♂️

whether any particular wire will work “better” or not might be negligble. @John R above has said he uses 316L for temp control and he knows a fair bit about it, so away you go and order a spool :)
