What's new

What's the next step...

Oh, and if you don't want faff, and are relatively new to the game, an ego spinner or a vision twist variable voltage battery would be cheaper and more manageable than a vamo, though I would get two of them, it really depends on what you feel like dealing with though:

You can get a load of discount codes at a variety of places for loads of vendors too, including on the discount code page linked to at the top of this forum

Thanks for that! I might give them a go!

No worries, if you do, kangers fit on them no problem, and that site sells kangers too, they have a discount code here, but will usually post a daily discount code of around 20% on their facebook page, I actually find the 900mah ones better than the 1300mah ones, better feel, less fiddly with the buttons with a kanger on top, and if you had two, that'd get you through a day easy. They also sell them at safercigs in blue and red, as far as I recall, anyway. You would need to get a charger, but they are dirt cheap. USB variety.

Great! It's always good to have a couple of options, I would like to get my hands on something that will satisfy me for a while.

Before jumping in with a mod give the twist/spinners a try, l have 2 900 mah twists and a 900 mah E2 (shiny and a different look but does the same job) twist from vapourhut and l love them to bits, l've also just got a lavatube V1 and TBH it's a house device out and about the twists are brilliant and there's not much difference in performance to the bigger mod IMO :2thumbsup:

Owning both twister and vamo I have to say that price is pretty much the same.
A vamo will require 2 to 4 batteries and a charger, so an outlay between 50 and 60 pound.
You want either two 1600 capacity or higher 18650 batteries, or 4 18350. Efest is one very good cheap brand.
For covering you all day, unles you vape much less than me, you'll need two twist, and an ego charger, so between 43 and 55, I think.
The twist is light and long, the vamo is pretty heavy, unless you are ok with spending another 20 quid on the stainless steel version. Small cartos/atties will look better on the twist, larger ones on the vamo. The vamo gives you a number of additional features, higher amp, more Voltage, display, atomizer resistance check.

If I could have only one, I would choose vamo. Also because you won't be left wanting for more, which might lead you to get the twist and then the vamo, so more expenses.
I think it will be between 4 and 6 months before the chinese come up with something at the same price point which brings really new features (presumably copying the janty's new super technological features, who knows)

This said, if you have the cash, some backup is always necessary, I must have 6 :)
In that case, the twist is really a good one.

Vivinova are nice, but the heads a bit expensive. You can make the coils your self and save a bunch, but that's definetely not faff free as you require.
In that sense, vivinova are good, quite trouble free and easy to fill.

if you've never bothered with ego's I'd say they're the perfect next step after cigalikes.

grab a couple of twists and they'll last you most if not all of the day, they'll give you a basic introduction to variable voltage gubbins and it will take any sort of atty you stick on it, be it a carto, tank, nova, kanger, spheroid, whatever you like.

after them, I would say take a look at something a bit more progressive like the vamo, MVP or evic.

but for now, I would say go with a couple of ego's.

Okey so I think I've decided to go for the vamo kit with the vivi nova to start with and I have just finished watch some youtube vids on how to rebuild these vivi novas. And even though I said I didn't want any faffing, I'm quite intrigued to give this a go.

Now, what I'm still a bit cunfused about are the different kinds of Ωs.
First, I don't really understand what the differences are between the 1.8/2.4/2.8Ωs
Does these different ohms tell you what watts and voltage you should set the vamo at.
Like I said, I haven't wrapped my head around this one yet.
So would be great if somebody could give me a link that explains this or if it's simple and you could just tell me.

And also, after watching various videos on changing coil and wick I noticed that some used 3 wicks and some just used 1. Why is this.
And where would be a good place to get the wicks and Wire to do this.

And would be great if somebody could explain the different Watts and Voltage settings on the Vamo because I haven't used anything like it before. Or does the manual that comes with the kit explain this?

This might help a bit

EDIT: Don't worry about recoiling / wicking just yet you can buy spare heads for the Vivi Nova they just screw on, and with washing the wicks (on the Vivi) they last a while & then they are cheap to replace get into vaping first make sure its for you then go up to rewicking & Coiling cause if you get that wrong you can kill your PV (if it isn't short protected)
