Where do I start?

Hi,

I have just ordered a Tugboat RDA and a Cthulhu RTA from fast tech. I'm looking to get into building but don't have the first idea. I've asked on reddit and the such but I get a lot of responses using terminology I don't know yet.
I have downloaded the steam engine app as I've been suggested that many times.
Is there a complete beginners guide somewhere I can read?
Youtube videos will be helpful but I can read things easier than watch atm.

Sorry for the ramble and thanks in advance for any help.

I've Googled it, and there's surprisingly little in written form online. I understand what you mean, you want to learn the principles and the basics rather than just steaming in by watching videos.

I would suggest you take your time and as you read the threads on the forum you will build up some knowledge. What equipment, wick and wire do you have? Post back and I'm sure you'll get some good suggestions to get you going.

Thanks yeah the first thing I did was Google, then went on reddit then joined up here and searched all for a beginners guide. There are plenty of videos and a ton of people talking about it but nothing for a complete beginner to read.
I even asked a few friends who actually build and they also seemed to not really know too much. Unfortunately I'm the kind of person who wants to research as much as possible before doing something so I don't cock it up.
As for equipment if have ordered an RDA and RTA which will be here in a few weeks. I've also got a coil jig with different widths.
I was going to order some wire at the same time but wanted to do more research. I've been recommended 26awg kanthal. I also know I need Japanese cotton for the best flavour.
As for ohms I think I want to go for 0.5 - 1 for the RTA but I have no idea what I should be aiming for for the RDA.
Atm I am vaping a nautilus with an istick 30w so that should handle the RTA at those ohms. I have a mech coming with the RDA as I've bought the clone setup from fast tech.
After looking about for the last few days I've definitely picked up a few things just want to cement all the different opinions into something solid to start with.

For a start point on the rda, I'd aim for a single coil around 1ohm. Nice and simple, and I'll have a nice wide power range to help you 'find your feet' then work from there.

I've just started my own builds, infact made my second one yesterday!

I've learnt mainly from watching Youtube vids, just Googled the name of my RTA's & building a coil which usually brings up the vids, then watched them a couple of times to get my head around it. The Youtubers make it look easy by the way as it's pretty fiddly

The first coil I made was frustrating but I eventually got there then the second one a lot easier, one at 1.5 ohms the other 1.2 & they both work great. Best way to learn is getting stuck in

Looks like you're set in the stuff you need, might want to add an ohm reader too

I only use regulated mods to haven't looked into the unregulated yet
